Ok so what would happen to the NBA if EVERY every actual allstar did this to get to 83 pts against the wizards and co. alike?…..what would that do to the integrity of the game if every game you had teams trying to do what Bam did and HOW bam did it??……would that even still be called basketball at that point??
Dude is so hurt lol. Bam earned every freaking point. 62 points in the first 3 quarters was all within the flow of the game. The wizards hacked him all night long. It wasn’t till the fourth quarter when bam started chucking up shots to get as much as he could. The first Heat intentional foul came when bam had 77!!!!! Of course they are going to help him at that point!!

Kobe last game for 60 wasn’t getting him a record for 2nd best scoring. The free throw attempt alone just was outrageous. Almost half of his points were free throws.

The Heat's orchestrating the last three minutes of this game to get him 83 casts a blemish on this. Also, honestly, there's no reason to try to pass Kobe. So many players in the past typically tries not to break meaningful records. Kobe played a more competitive team and game. There's no comparison.
Dont complain about Kobe's 60…he hit those shots down the stretch with defenders there.
I mean similar to watching any Dwight game in Orlando or Shaq…just watching a ton of free throws kills the wibe.That is not on Bam tho if you gonna flame anyone flame the Lizzards .Also Bam would be at around 74 ,76 without the late shenanigans,

Daryl Morey and Kirk Goldsberry were behind the rule changes, which is why there was a 200 point all-star game a few years ago, bunch of dudes scoring 70, Bam scoring 83, and the NBA sucks most nights. It wasn't they developed a smarter way to play, they literally changed the rules of how you could defend which is to say you're not allowed to anymore.
New for the 2018-19 season, stipulated by item No. 12 (B), Section 1 in the NBA Rule Book, players are no longer permitted to “hold, push, charge into, impede the progress of an opponent,” or do anything else that would instantly cause the man they’re guarding to be “re-routed.” This and the O shot clock resetting to 24 seconds.
D is forced to let guys shoot, if an offensive player goes into a shooting motion and there's even incidental contact, it's a whistle, and or free throws. Good way to make guys more efficient if you delete their missed/contested shots with a whistle.
It is the era of stat padding, it's the NBA's steroid era, you should ask these two why they haven't talked about it before. Sloan is a cult, which misunderstood data, and somehow tricked the league into legislating defense out of the game. If you like free throws and flopping, this is your jam.
Morey-ball does not exist without these rule changes. For guys who love analytics it'd be great if they understood what they were talking about.

The NBA should be embarrassed the why it happened. He got 83 but so what. Kobe's game was an embarrassment as well. But at least it was a close game so I guess you could see it. There was no reason for Bam to be in the game. There was no reason to foul the other team. The NBA is wondering why the rating are trash. This is one of the reasons. It's not like he was going for a record. It might as well have been 2 points instead of 73. So, what. Sadly, the only ones not laughing at the NBA is the NBA. The Heat should be fined a billion dollars for letting their players do it and these 83 points never going in the records books as punishment. This was simply awful.
