Raptors WHOOP the best team in the East 🤯 – Scottie, RJ, BI & Jak destroy the Pistons
The season is very much starting to hang in the balance. The Raptors currently sit at 6th in the east, and have a Sunday afternoon date with the best team in the conference, Detroit Pistons… But the Raptors are riding high and feeling good following a huge win over the Suns and Brandon Ingram’s best performance of the year.
Can Scottie Barnes and Immanual Quickley get back on track? And will it be enough to beat a Pistons team who is surely looking to make a statement?

18:13 – it's actually smart. You give Ja'kobe a little breathing room to play defence.
You get Scottie a quick break.
If this was a playoff game, maybe you match it, but you really want to see what else you got.
I think "allowing" Cade to get comfortable, gives him a false sense of security. He didn't really feel like he shot 50%.
26:15 – we play them again soon, he'll be adjustment they haven't seen yet.
1:00:04 –
Defensively, it's like Scottie is Vlad Jr, and Wemby is Ohtani. 2021 (MVP race)
Scottie 2025/26 is a Vlad Jr. 2025 (just get to the playoffs, and you'll see the real Scottie) that first game Philly, 4 years ago should speak volumes.
I liked Darko's rotations in this one.
Getting the Ws were it matters…gotta love it..
I haven’t watched the game yet — I was at a big Mirvish show that I didn’t really enjoy. I wish I had gone to the game instead. Can’t wait to watch when I get home tomorrow. Yay Raptors!
I dont think Quickley had a bad game. Yes he didnt make shots but he did other things well. His playmaking was good and on the defensive end he was disruptive forcing turnovers and getting steals.
I do think Scottie was good. But saying he was the best player on the court I just can’t get with it. I do understand you’re a Scottie fan but until his offense comes along he isn’t in that all nba category to me. He is a better Draymond? Kind of.
I ain't gonna lie idk if y'all agree with me but I think RJ should stay than quick I see RJ being more valuable to this team than quick I understand people argue about spacing and shooting but honestly wtf did quick do today other than a few nice passes he was like 1/12, but other than that I see RJ as a way more important player than quick on this team especially after his latest injury and today's game,
Scottie led us in defense from wire to wire, he architected this win, honestly. BI is in his zone and was sensational, RJs offence and defense was great. The team played really well despite Quick having a tough shooting night. Looking forward to watching them play hard like this.
The Domantas Sabonis form of Jakob Poeltl Darko promised us has arrived
Kudos to Scottie, Poetl, Ingram, and Barrett. I have to admit that I expected the team to lose up until Ingram hit that 3 with 16 seconds left. The team deserves full credit for the win. But I think this is an outlier among games. We have not played well for quite a while, and I don't think we solved many of our problems. We look like a play-in team to me, given the rest of the season's schedule. I'm optimistic about this team's future, but this is not our season for any playoff run.
Wooooo! I'm elated the Raptors got a convincing win against the "Well…the refs can't call all of them…" Pistons, without sustaining any major season ending injuries. Less than 30 3pt attempts, and Scottie not standing in the corner bricking 3s, I believe contributed to these wins as well as putting the ball in his hands (instead of IQ's) around the top of the key for better play initiation, screening, scoring, and rebounding opportunities. He needs to be our "Joker". Now…if only he could shoot the 3 ball…then we would really have something!
We should have gotten more foul calls. The Pistons foul on virtually every play–multiple times!!! (Yes, the Raptors foul plenty too.) The difference is the Pistons tend to foul a lot harder–seemingly intentionally. We get called on so many "and 1" fouls with the lightest of contact on opposing shooters that they easily make their shot. Detroit players have mastered the art of initiating all the contact foul baiting (like running into our players at speed throwing their hands with no intention of even trying to make the shot), or they foul us first and the refs only seem to ever catch when our player retaliates. Jesus!..You'll notice our players are constantly tucking in their jerseys with all the "discreet" jersey grabbing/pulling that Detroit does. If the officials are going to keep letting that go, then I want to see our bigs run over and try and sodomize opposing bigs like Duren tried to do to Poeltl on his layup. (Poeltl could have been seriously injured on that play.) If we are going to get called for the foul anyway by these biased refs, I say make it count! Short of being dirty, I want our opponents to leave the arena, with scratches, bumps and bruises like Detroit, NY, OKC, T-Wolves, and the Heat do. Keep it up Raptors! We the North!!!
Happy we won but from what I've seen so far this season there are a lot of holes/weaknesses on this team & many changes need to happen if we're really going to improve and start competing for another championship hopefully in the next season or two.
(1)Scottie, Jamal, Jakobe , CMB & Alijah all need to improve offensively (Specicifcally Shooting/Ball Handling)
(2) This team needs to sign another scoring guard like either Colin Sexton or Quentin Grimes.
(3) Raps should try and find a way to move off players like Gradey & Mogbo next season.
(4) Raps really need to hit on this draft and can't afford to miss again on another draft pick
(5) We need some size and toughness at the C position. The obvious choice here is Andre Drummond, who's still an efffective rebounder and rim protector that isnt too expensive.
(6) The Raps front office shouldn't keep making the same mistake & overpay players. Mamu should be paid fair market value,.no more no less if he wishes to stay on this team.
(7) Finally, Ownership should figure out if Bobby Webster is really capable of leading this team to another championship because based on everything i've seen so far I really don't think he is.
we need to win 3 more straight to get back to 4-5 seeds! big hearts from the boys!
So good to have some positive energy around this team right now! Big late season push let's goooooo
I LOVE DARKOBALL!!!!, Maybe now his doubters and haters will STFU and stop saying he will have to be replaced by a coach whio knows how to win in the playoffs when they get better They same shit they said about Casey , who had Demar and not Kahwi.
Was able to get last-minute tickets to this game and it did not disappoint. Scottie’s impact was so palpable. It was insane.
The TSN turning point for me was a stretch I believe in the late third or early fourth where Scottie sat with Cade still on and Cade bricked four out of five shots. You could tell they were relying on that moment when Scottie was off the floor to be aggressive and we were able to hold them off.
Scottie’s passing so cool to watch live.
Lastly, completely agree that we didn’t play perfect. We just squeezed everything out of what we do have.
Ingram late clock clutch situations still felt clunky. The bad challenge. The Scottie bench without replacing him with a big that could cover Cade.
Lastly, Scottie is a #1 and I don’t care about his points. His assists, hockey assists, he made the lives of his teammates so much easier. His defence is the only reason you can stay in games.
These aren’t perfect offensive players around him but they talented and there is a great symbiotic relationship when they are hitting shots.
