I agree. I always look at the case of the Grit N Grind Memphis Grizzlies. They were a great defensive unit but they took it too far with the analytics and traded Rudy Gay their best scorer. The result was they held NBA teams to the lowest average point total while also being one of the lowest scoring teams in the league, making the point differential low. They won a lot of games but in the playoffs when the competition was peak, they couldn’t score enough points despite the defense. If you can get a two way star, that’s great. But don’t trade your only pure scorer, without having a replacement.
What the Hawks really need is some veteran leadership on the team. That one player on the Wizards, Trae Young I think, hasn’t been doing that much on the team… why not trade him to the Hawks? Interested in your thoughts on this Andrew.
