Knicks SURGING In The East…But Are They TRUE Contenders? | NY Got Game
The New York Knicks are one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now.
After a 110–107 comeback win over the Golden State Warriors, the Knicks have now won three straight games and are 19–7 over their last 26 games. During this stretch, New York has led the NBA in defensive rating and net rating, outscoring opponents by more than 300 points over a 26-game span — a level of dominance the franchise hasn’t reached since the early 1970s. But despite the Knicks’ surge in the Eastern Conference, questions remain.
Are the Knicks peaking at the right time… or are there still concerns heading toward the NBA playoffs?

Playoff performance is all that matter and the Knicks are built for the playoffs. That week off before the playoffs will have them reset and ready to lock in for the run!
Boston Celtics lost half their starters also
First it was Kat, then OG, now Mikal… Hart is too short to play power forward, talented forwards take advantage of his size, plus he's more erratic then any other the other starting five. Knicks would have been better getting another talented power forward, rather then getting a shorter guard. Now you have a 6 ft guard and a 6'4" power forward playing together.
Even Stevie Wonder can see that Hart doesn’t fit in the starting 5. The fans in the stand is the closest defender to Hart and he still pass up wide open shots. That is a huge problem with our offense.
Bridges is still an elite defender and a 3 point threat. Hart is not very good defensively and he is not a 3 point threat that needs to be guarded even when he is shooting 40 plus percent from 3!!
only time will tell, but not looking great right now.
Of course we are contenders. Detroit is last year's Cavs. The only team we haven't solved is the Thunder…We haven't seen the real Knicks. Mitch available for 40 minutes a game and OG not on time limit restrictions gives us a whole different dynamic. A healthy Deuce by the second round raises our level. The Knicks are scary. We still haven't had a 10 game winning streak this year and now is a good time to have it.
You want to know why the 5 pick talk and the 150 mill is tired? Because it's more an indictment on the front office than Mikal. Yeah, he negotiated the latter, but Leon didn't have to give it to him and essentially double down on the gamble.
The dude was inconsistent last year, you should've waited to determine if you extend him or not. Sure enough, it looks like a overpay. Mikals struggling, and it's on him; bringing up the assets used without properly pinning it on Leon and Co. is annoying. If we're talking Mikal, keep it to hoops.
Hart is to small to play PF, and he makes to many mistakes
