Bro, we have to play that way because we don’t have that tall super athletic stretch four that can be a menace on defense.
Instead, we have to play a wing player like Barnes, Champagne, Bryant or KJ at the PF spot. I thought Olynk could fill that role but he’s a liability on defense because he’s not athletic enough to matchup against the more athletic PFs in the league like Chet when Hartenstein is in the game.
So either we have to find a bruiser post presence like Jokic we can play at Center alongside Wemby to turn Wemby into a PF or we need to keep Wemby at Center and go find that KG/Giannis/Ak-47 type PF we can play alongside Wemby in the future.
I really don’t Wemby having to chase guys around the court. I would rather the Spurs draft and develop a 6-9” or 6-10” PF with a huge wingspan and that is Uber athletic to play that PF spot and become the next AK-47 2.0. That would be an awesome get for our front line.
I hope Wemby stays healthy, bc I want to see him in the playoffs. Ultra-competitive players tend to do well and he is just starting off. Just starting off is a doubleedged sword, even if Wemby does not havr experience that also means that opponents do not have experience dealing with what he can brings.
Spurs dream season continues. Didn't realize what a favorable draw they'll have as the 2nd seed.

You can prefer OKC but Spurs have shown to be better than them.
Same for MVP candidates, Wemby is obvious but bs narrative push for SGA… smh
I respect the Nuggets but they have a bottom 10 ranked defense. You can’t put that type of team in a top 3 category regarding the NBA Finals.

Spurs are clearly better than both teams, but against the right match up (Knick for some reason), their weaknesses will get exposed. Luckily for the spurs, neither of those teams present that match-up issue. That reason being a stretch big that can pull Wemby outside of the paint, and combo WINGS that can directly counter the Spurs’ combo GUARDS. As a spurs fan, I would not want to see the Knicks in the finals.
Tier 1 really needs to be OKC, Spurs
Tier 2 Boston, Denver(If you believe Jokic is the best player in the world), maybe Pistons.
Tier 3 Knicks, Lakers, Wolves, Cavs
