NBA Expansion Is Going To DESTROY The OKC Thunder π¬ #shorts
The NBA Board of Governors votes NEXT WEEK on expanding to Seattle and Las Vegas. If approved, an expansion draft in 2028 could gut the league’s best teams.
The defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder can only protect 8 players β meaning key contributors like Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins, or Jaylin Williams could be stolen for nothing.
The Spurs already waived Jeremy Sochan because their roster was too deep. The Celtics face the same problem. And OKC still has 15+ draft picks to use before 2028, making the problem even worse.
The ultimate irony? One of the new teams is Seattle β the same city that LOST the SuperSonics to become the Thunder. Now they might steal OKC’s players.
Which contender gets hurt the most by NBA expansion? Comment below!

Thunder would be crazy to protect Caruso over Mitchell. Not to mention, they would lose 2 players at most to the expansion draft.
How dare you not mention Ajay michel as one of thunders best 8 players.
$500 mil is not nothing my dude π
Does this mean kemp and Peyton will no longer be on the all time thunder team? And kd gonna be on both?
It's worked well in the past.
You canβt even make up for the robbery of Seattle by getting SGA
This is cool
Nah just punish that flopper sga and the dirty dort guy. Thunder is weak if sga can't flop for his free throws and dirty dort can't injure players
wont matter in 28. most of those players will leave OKC to get a better contract anyway.
Thats not a bad thing for Seattle.
Yeah.. screw with both Canadian teams with no higher than 7th picks…
So does everyone else
Karma fights back somehow when it comes to OKC and Seattle π€£
Okc ainβt going anywhere. Even if guys like Wiggins and Joe depart, there are young guys like McCain and Mitchell filling those roles. Also both of their last two first round picks wont be fully healthy until next year along with plenty of draft capital
Donβt worry, they will return the favors. 20 more fts each game for SGA
Why don't they first just get refs to call the OKC games fairly – that would be start.
lol π I love 2026 idiots keep posting videos not knowing that sga Chet both Williams hartenstine and Wiggins are safe than just fill in the 2 they like most and boom still a top 3 team π€£ππ€£π bro couldnβt pop up the thunder roster before posting this video and looking massively dumb ππ€£ππ€£
not sure how this destroys them
They wouldnβt keep hernstein
Oh how the turn tables
Basically teams like the Dubs are going to come out in better shape than the teams ahead of them
Why would they keep that nail polish mfr. Send his ass out
Bro…you are starting to get like Stephen A. Smith with the over sensationalizing of simple facts. The league has survived 2 expansions and multiple team relocations. This is business and has nothing to do with the Thunder, Spurs, or any individual team. If these teams are so deep losing one unprotected player will not kill unless they are not as good as suggested. Can you get back to facts over hype or should I just unsubscribe?
Viewership down 50%.
Perfect time to expand and dilute the nba even more.
Letβs take it to a new level of GARBAGE. ποΈ
Placing my bet now. One of the OKC guys that gets taken will have the best season of his career on the new team. Well maybe be an All-Star at some point on the new team. Thatβs how deep OKC is.
hell no
Expansion drafts have happened since the inception of the NBA. That's the way it goes. OKC had been the Sonics and David Stern wanted to f Seattle over. So, stop with this bs video about how bad the expansion draft will be. Okay won't be gutted. They can fully protect 7-8 players and some of those unprotected won't be drafted by either expansion team. Also, OKC can't afford this team next season and will be letting Dort and others walk.
Calm down…. lets see where these guys are in 2 years
