The fact that we are still brianstorming if he should win the MVP is the real problem.
SGA won it last year, this year is actually a race because everyone has been missing significant games and some are still even out. Now, take off SGA and OKC still is competitive enough to make the playoffs. Take away Luka and the Lakers are likely in the outside looking in play-in territory. The last 8 games, he's been on a tear. I'd say give it to Luka this year, he's been carrying the Lakers all year long and that's even while going through his child support/divorce situation off the court.

Finishing (hopefully) third in the West is no small feat with a team like this. Luka also did most of his work without LBJ. Nobody expected such a result with such a deficient team. Of course, they don't have a bench for a long playoff run, but maybe they'll prove themselves in LBJ's final season in the NBA? Maybe… But that's still the maximum in the round. Luka on the NBA First Team? Sure. Will he be MVP? He COULD, but they won't give him one, even though he deserves it, because the NBA isn't a complete team like the OCT.
