SELF-DESTRUCT: Orlando Magic’s Costly Errors COLLAPSE vs. Lakers—Why Paolo Banchero Needs HELP Now

The Orlando Magic let a sure victory slip away against the Los Angeles Lakers. Their poor execution on the final three plays were symbolic of cascading errors throughout the game that cost the Magic a chance for a huge victory as their grip in the Eastern Conference playoff race quickly fades.

These errors were nothing new for the Magic. They made similar mistakes in previous games, and those mistakes popped up time and time again. The Magic’s poor decision-making and poor attention to detail shows up in late games and is costing them.

Paolo Banchero and Desmond Bane struggled mightily in this game. But it is clear as defenses load up to stop Banchero how much help he and the Magic need to get over the hump. This team’s execution continues to be a problem and costing them games.

  1. Hopefully we see some improvement. I think it’s difficult to expect much change this late in the season. It’s very frustrating!!!

  2. It's not fair to call Paolo a superstar when he can't even make the all star team yearly. Let's be honest he's not that type of talent. He sold a lot of jerseys and got a lot of fans to believe but he's not a premier player in this league. He's too bagless to be a superstar. Doesn't have that type of game, best thing is drawing fouls and ramming into ppl for a foul.

  3. You're out of your mind of you think Paolo isn't the problem. Once again, a guy who's game is creative layups tries to be a jump shot king and goes 4-14. The guy keeps shooting 30% when he should be shooting 80% layups. Hogging the ball and missing shots is as good as a turnover, and he has too many of those too. Just trade he and suggs for real point guard. Franz can make two pointers from the 4 spot.

  4. The bench played great but the starters had an awful first quarter and closing seconds. The timeout after the intentionally missed free throw was a huge mistake that changed everything. The best the Lakers could do is to try to foul as seconds ticked away. If Carter completes a pass or even throws it downcourt, time is up. He's a good FT shooter but even 1 of 2 would have allowed us to cover the 3-pt arc. This was a win that Mosely threw away for a useless timeout.
Edit: As I play the whole video, you say the say the refs called the play dead? Maybe Ayton missed the rim, which is a dead ball. If so, disregard what I said above.

  5. at this point in the season they are what they are pretty good, but not good enough to get far in the play in/play offs.

  6. Jesus Christ all u did was cry for 10 min. Ur not even old enough to have seen the 95 Orlando Magic team and ur acting like thats who ur rolling out there.
The Magic are not getting out of the 1st round even if they make the playoffs. How many picks did u guys give up for Bane?

  7. Meh, just enjoy the handful of wins you've had be the Lakers in the last 3 years. You are no longer good enough mentally or physically to deal with that team. Suggs,Bane and Banchero aren't as good as they think they are and that's the problem.

  8. As a Laker fan yall are good. You have all the pieces to be great. You just need a true 1A player. Banchero is a great 2nd option. If yall had Jalen Brown and another solid point guard like younger Chris Paul for instance you’d be a scary team.

  9. I also think the max players on every team should do more press conferences after games. Seems like our top players get a pass after these bad losses.

  10. Tristan 66% shooting and 12 points in 21 minutes playtime. How is that not helping Paolo? He should've played more minutes
