This IS My Favorite Spurs Team!?
This 2025 San Antonio Spurs team might honestly be my favorite Spurs squad ever. From the chemistry to the effort every single night, this team just feels different.
Led by rising superstar Victor Wembanyama and a young core that keeps improving, the Spurs are showing flashes of something special. Whether it’s the defense, the ball movement, or the never-quit attitude, this group is building something fans have been waiting for.

Spurs fans what is your favorite team of all team? What are your thoughts on this team? Thanks for watching and GO SPURS GO!
I started following the Spurs in 1990 as well. I was in middle school and I met best friend who had just moved to San Antonio from Hawaii (Air Force family).
He was a huge sports fan and taught me about basketball and he told me about David Robinson, so I started following the Spurs. The 90s always felt like we were so close but always so far. So the 1999 team is always special to me. Sean, Avery, David and all the rest. They were always big in the community but the running narrative was they would never win a championship because they were too soft.
Duncan may have been the catalyst but those guys all played huge parts in our first ship. So they’ll always be special to me.
The Duncan Parker Manu teams were all special as well and they were part of a special time in my life as I navigated my 20s and 30s. So many changes happened in my life during that time I go back and watch old footage and it’s hard to believe so much time has passed.
I followed them religiously up till the Kawaii drama went down and that killed my enthusiasm not for the Spurs but for the NBA. I felt like the NBA machine (including all the talking heads) were blaming San Antonio for a problem created by Kawaii team and they were rewarded while our franchise was left eating dung in the whole deal.
Deroazn seemed like a nice guy but the LA/Derozan team did not excite me. It felt like we were in middle tier hell, not good enough to compete, not bad enough to get high draft picks. All our legends were gone.
So a few years of not following I started getting back into the spurs around 2022, I was excited by the new blood. The draft that is now one of our worst in hindsight where we got Sochan, Brahnan, and Wesley got me excited if nothing else some new young blood and hope was coming in.
That didn’t work out like I thought but we did get Wemby so it all worked out in the end.
I can say this current team is exciting and I absolutely love watching them again. They may end up as my all time favorite but I am just happy we can have this conversation.
At this point. All I can say is enjoy this team and this time and don’t take it for granted because nothing is ever guaranteed.
3:08 downvoted video for nephew being on screen for too long. Nah just kidding but please keep him off the screen tho. xD
I’d have to say this team COULD be my favorite, especially since we have our Franchise player in wemby, but the 2014 squad holds the most weight for me. Shout out to the 03’ team, a close second easily.
Man, your getting emotional here and it's making me feel it. I saw the Spurs play in the 70's when I was in high school and college, but really started following them in the 85-86 season after I came back home from serving in the Marine Corps. This is the most exciting season I have watched and I absolutely love these players. So, yes, I'll agree with you, this is my favorite Spurs team. However, I give a close second to David Robinson's rookie year. It had some similarities to this year because a lot of hope was generated. Big Dave started playing after waiting two years. We had two-time all-star Terry Cummings (The Preacher), and we had just drafted Sean Elliott with the third pick. Willie Anderson was a second-year standout, we picked up Rod Strickland mid-season. David Wingate was a defensive specialist. We still had Johnny Moore as he was winding down his career. So, Dave was like Wemby (young superstar), Terry was like De'Aaron (all-star vet), Willie was like Steph (2nd year standout), Sean was like Dylan (rookie drafted near the top). Similar excitement, similar hope. Excited fanbase. We didn't have social media to hype things up, but everyone could feel the anticipation. They had a massive turnaround from a losing season of 21-61 to finish 56-26. Sound familiar?
I was born in 1963. I saw my first Spurs game in 1973 then ABA Spurs. I have been a fan ever since. I have seen every Spurs great and team through the years. This current team has the potential to be the best team ever but let them prove it playoff by playoff year by year Championship by Championship.
I’ve been waiting for you to make a video like this lol. They’re going crazy
The bar is not even a back to back I think the bar to reach is 3 peat… is it possible 😳
What part of VA did you live in TSR?
Spurs can clinch southwest division tonight if they beat Heat and Rockets lose to Bulls
Did TSR also become a Giants fan in 1990s too that would be an interesting timeline up until now but probably won’t work for a short type of format unfortunately
Yeah in hindsight Tony Parker should have retired or stayed with Spurs instead of going to Hornets still weird seeing him in that kind of jersey
I didn’t know TSR finished his degree from 2016-2019, was from Virginia and was in a relationship
Sorry about Momma TSR passing away I did not know much about her
Did you get to meet any Spurs, Giants or Yankees fans while in Virginia
I wish Momma TSR got to see these Spurs but more importantly see TSR with Mrs TSR because I bet that she would be happy about it right now
2003 and 2014 are tied for me. Loved having a roster that included The Admiral and the big 3 which culminated with David Robinson retiring as a Champion. 2014 is the most inspirational and beautiful basketball by any one team I've witnessed.
The current Spurs are exciting to watch and have character (Spursy) players filling the entire roster. They're the kind of players one would want to see succeed and am hopeful the best is yet to come this season.
Rich, you and Miss TSR are a genuine pleasure to watch, as the chemistry you guys have, stood out immediately. I believe, in both of your cases, that good things happen to genuinely good people and the best is yet to come.
GSG!!!!!!!
The changes TSR Sports is probably talking about is when he did multiple things like having Ricky Lombardo, Ron Jambo and Arnold Schwartz dude on channel to cover funny skits and do movie reviews
I’ll never forget when TSR covered Giants on this channel too and had other fans join him like Entertainah, Baddog, The Hub, Kid Blue and mainly OGR Sports
Also I wish TS Bear got to see these Spurs this year and I remember reading the newspaper to keep up with sports
We need to honor Chuck Norris and other guests you had on channel like Selena Gomez who were on the couch next to you
Mister Robinson’s neighborhood I see why you did there I love the intro
The exact reasons you laid out is exactly why this is my favorite team as well. My favorite player is actually manu but this team is special and I think it’s because of the heartbreak the last few years
Also saw a bleacher report article on spurs and Donovan Mitchell in offseason that I sent to you on Twitter but pretty it is them giving up two first round picks along with Dylan Harper and Devin Vassell I can’t see this happening but yeah spurs don’t need more guards have enough as is and should add a wing or big if they trade for anyone after this season
Thank you for sticking with our team during the rough times, Rich. Those six years of misery will all be rewarded now. 😎
Honestly same. I am 26, so I grew up with the streak, with Pop, entirely winning. The Spurs were always winning, always contenders, the big 3 were a constant, so I took it for granted. Also there was no way I was able to afford league pass or anything like that, and I was not about to ask my parents to pay hundreds of dollars a year for it so I was not able to watch most games. But now I am an adult. I own a place with my brother that we split payments on and we both work and can afford to pay for league pass. We can watch every single Spurs game. I am in DC, so every time the Spurs come to DC, I can decide to go to the games. Seeing Wemby play with such passions and just how much of an alien he is, tall, agile, smart, etc. Combine that with our young guys Castle, Harper, Carter, and then our vets, Heart and Soul Keldon finally winning, Fox who already was one of my favorite non-Spurs players coming to play for the Spurs, Devin, Harrison, Julian, Kornet… Seeing THIS team win, just hits different.
2003. Ending the lakers dynasty, Kerr in Dallas, Malik dunk on Dekembe. We also were not favorites that year much like this season.
I have a favorite team and it's the Spurs!
That 2003 to 2007 is my favorite spurs team, big 3 in their prime. Now I’m loving this team as well, their mentality, grittiness, the players themselves, Love it
I became a fan of Spurs when I watched a DVD of 2005 NBA Champions – San Antonio Spurs – One Team, One Goal, Third Championship documentary.
The old dynasty is like a steam locomotive barreling thru , the new is like a Japanese speed train whizzing by
David Robinson and Terry Cummings were two of my favorite players of all time. That team which had the biggest season W-L turnaround from the season before made me a Spurs fan way back when I was in middle school. Robinson, Cummings, Anderson, Elliott, Strickland were my favorite starting five for the Spurs. That 2013-14 roster as a whole was my favorite. This year's roster though while not as deep as that 2014 roster has really impressed me.
Great. video, Rich – not at all what I expected. I'm glad it wasn't really about comparing players of different eras – that's always an apples vs. oranges conundrum. I think I enjoy the speed of team of the current era, and the potential, but I'll always love David, Timmy, Manu, Tony, and many more. You're the best, and Ms. TSR just makes it better.
Great video! Robinsons 2nd Championship at home. My Dad and I attended and were there. It was the last game that my Dad attended. He has since passed on.
Is it only me but i was really looking for keldon on the 2019 team hair change a man 😂
I was at my UT college orientation when game 6 happened in 2013. The Wendys in Jester was packed and deflated. Absolute heartbreak. It made 2014 even that much sweeter. I watched pretty much every game that year and was so locked in that it is impossible for 2014 to not be my favorite Spurs team of all time. This squad however is #2. Once again ive been locked in, watching every game and highlight. Ive been to 3 games and they are so fun to watch. They have brought the Spurs back and that will always mean so much to me as a crazy hispanic fan who was born and raised in San Antonio. I want a title sure but im soaking in this season for what it is, growth and maturity. I love this team man! 🥲 Go Spurs Go!
This is your generation X conscience, dude. This team is not your favorite team. Not even your second. Your favorite team is the team that lost against LeBron then went back and beat The Heat out of existence. Your second fav is Tim Duncan and David Robinson's first championship! I'm getting out of your brain now.
Need a video of crediting Vassell and KJ!! 🙏
2014 for sure, but this team will be my favorite after this chip this year 💯 wait I did become a spurs fan the series that they defeated the Knicks, that’s slightly number 2 to me
