Jovan I’d say the Lakers are favorites over OKC and SA for 2 reasons. One the Lakers championship experience gives them the edge over SA. SA is the Memphis Grizzlies of 2022-23 when they had Ja, Triple J, Bane and Brooks. SA is not ready to compete w the Lakers yet in the playoffs. 2 OKC is a small team like the Warriors who lack size and physicality like the late 2010’s Warrior teams that played Bron in the finals before KD came. They rely on shooting 3’s and running in transition to score like the Warriors. Lakers will expose OKC’s lack of size and physicality. Bron & Luka will walk OKC down the same way Bron & Kyrie walked GS down in the Finals
Ik we're in must-win territory and ever minute each of our stars plays is important to winning these games, but ngl I'm concerned about how much minutes that our big three are playing. Luka and AR specifically have played 9 straight games with around 40 minutes +. The last game they played where they didn't play around 40 minutes was on March 6 against the pacers. Just seems like there's moments where our big three don't have their legs under them. Hope our guys can get some rest in our next three games.

How about luka taking too many shots while chasing stats? Throw in the turnovers and lack of defense and you can stop the MVP talk.
Luka has been so good at getting everyone involved on this run. His play has slipped back to chucking the last two games

Luka shouldn’t be shooting 30 shots tbh. That just won’t fly come playoff time especially if you’re shooting poorly. He should be shooting at most 21-22 shots and sharing with Austin and lebron or else he’s gonna run himself into the ground while keeping his teammates out of rhythm
Reaves got gamed by a bench player. He literally couldn’t guard a guy averaging 8 points a game. LaRavia sucks, doesn’t deserve the minutes or the role he has and should be benched in the playoffs. It’s written all over him that he’s going to be terrible in the playoffs. He should be benched
Felt like this was a game where they tried, but clearly they looked gassed. Streak ended, but we built something great in that stretch. Now the part is to replicate that play style and just play like that the rest of the season. They can compete with any team if they are locked in.
Man I would have assumed you had more subs. Never ceases to surprise me how seldomly I noticed or at at least certainly not enough to remember sub counts.

They looked gassed. I don’t understand why these pro athletes don’t invest in a long distance running and aerobic program in the summer and throughout the year to get them ready for the rigors of the season. They don’t have the aerobic base it’s so obvious

Strong ball pressure is a problem for our ball handlers. Smart would’ve really helped. Our lack of athleticism in the backcourt was on display tonight on both sides of the ball.
Clutch-time Lakers and they put up one of the worst last 30 seconds of the season.
They were ahead after those DA FTs. Then LaRavia proceeded to be an absolute dunce as usual and foul. Reaves then scores quickly to get us back up again, then JJ decided the thing to do is not sub in any extra defenders after the Pistons TO. Surprise surprise Reaves get abused on defence this the 18th time that night.
Ok, down 1 with exactly 24 seconds left. So hold and run the clock down then find the best shot possible right? Wrong. Luka decided to just iso and jack up a shot with 13 seconds left on the clock. Brainless. Then the last chance and Bron as usual throws an abysmal inbounds. We still get the ball, with enough time to find a shot, and Luka ends up taking a spin around 35 foot rainbow three because he refuses to ever pass in the clutch.
Woeful.
yeah its lost feels bad still but now we learned the potential of team when we put effort ; its a bad lost cade-less pistons ( one of the worst officiating and its an obvious excuse for close game like this, they killed lakers momentum in too many important streches ) but that showed smart is as much as important for lakers like cade to pistons.that leads for me its like effort starts with smart than lebron than it spreads to the team. i hope he can be 100% healthy in playoffs.
in the end they looked tired , bad shooting games related to fatiuge out of the way now. now its time to take care of business through the end. i think after winning streak all we lakers have confidence we can end season as 3rd 👍🏿👍🏿
Jovan, you're someone who has access to JJ. Please tell him to notice momentum shifts in the game and manage his timeouts better. Also, please tell him not to save his challenges for Christmas. There were two instances he could have used them in the loss.
Lost in the mix of Lukas off shooting(he looked fatigued and maybe dealing with a minoir injury + awful refs) he was a +7.
I see people complaining about his shots but no one else wanted to step up, many times Luka would pass it and theyd pass back to him.
Btw Jovan Im curious how you think Lakers should handle ref games like this. Do you go all in on "flopping" and selling contact like we see Jokic/SGA do, throw your hands up on contact or fall to ground. Or do you go other route and try to foul the Pistons more like they are fouling you and see if you get away with it?

I think the biggest takeaway is Adou isn’t ready yet atleast not to be an on ball primary defender type. Either that or he wasn’t deployed correctly.
