Scottie Barnes has grown into the Toronto Raptors’ BEST offensive creator | Plus, Markelle Fultz?!

Scottie Barnes has grown into the Toronto Raptors’ BEST offensive creator | Plus, Markelle Fultz?!

The Toronto Raptors took down the very tanky Utah Jazz 143-127 on Monday night to improve to 40-31 on the season. In Episode 2067, Sean Woodley goes solo to talk about Scottie Barnes’ big game (20-7-10 on 8/10 shooting) while the Raptors were without Immanuel Quickley, Brandon Ingram and Jakob Poeltl, gets into how Barnes has emerged as the team’s most reliably half court creative engine, and why the team’s offense in the moments that matter most down the stretch of the season needs to reflect that. Next, Sean talks about the Raptors signing former first-overall pick Markelle Fultz to a 10-day contract, his mixed bag of a debut for the team in Utah, whether he poses any thread to Jamal Shead’s status as the team’s backup point guard, and why this signing further illuminates the need for the Raptors to find more guard help this summer. Lastly, Sean runs through The Good (The Magic and Heat stink again!), The Bad (The Utah Jazz’ very existence) and The Hmmm (is Jamison Battle going to swing a playoff game with his shooting?) to round out the show.

  1. Duhhh only been saying this for the past 3 seasons now. Scottie should definitely play as the lead creator while having another guard that can play off ball and handle secondary playmaking. Its been obvious to me but some reason coach insists on have IQ the better Off ball player be the lead initiator and Scottie the better playmaker as the off baller. Whenever we have scottie play making 90% of the time it leads to a great possession. I trust Scottie with the ball over anyone else on the team
