Continental Coliseum: Coming in 2028 | OKC Thunder

Thunder Chairman Clay Bennett, Continental Resources Founder Harold Hamm, and Continental CEO Doug Lawler sit down to talk about the signature naming rights partnership between the Thunder and Continental for the future home of the Thunder, a new state-of-the-art arena rising in downtown Oklahoma City. As a company founded and built in Oklahoma, Continental shares the Thunder’s deep commitment to the community. Continental Coliseum is scheduled to open in time for the 2028-29 Thunder season. Together, we’re building something that extends well beyond the arena — and will make a lasting impact on the next generation of Thunder fans.

  1. Congrats! They're gonna take your tax money away from inner city schools, shut more down and sabotage the next generation of disproportionately high rates of minority kids to help billionaires save money on a stadium that's not even needed. But, who gives fk, right? You can always blame those kids in 20 years when they turn to a life of crime because the options for a giod life seem slim to nonexistent. 😂 All good news here!

  2. I know myself and many others were hoping for some variation of "Thunder Dome," but I think its pretty badass to get to refer to our new arena as the Coliseum. Continental Coliseum has some nice consonance and alliteration as well. Love it.

  3. 🤔 #1 OKC Thunder fan here. I don’t live there and will remain silent. The facility is beautiful- state of the art.

  4. That Continental building has been around as long as I can remember. Truly an iconic part of OKC. A perfect fit for the Thunder and the new arena.

  5. 90/10 split to further the abuse of our shared environment by Continental Resources. Harold Hamm is a homegrown Koch brother.

  6. Harold Hamm has bank
    He doesn't have tell 2050
    when the terms expire for
    the arena.
    Neither does Bennett
    Neither do I
    Bennett only ponies up $50
    Million
    Thats chump change to him.
