Leonard Miller Is A Diamond In The Rough For Bulls

Leonard Miller Is A Diamond In The Rough For Bulls

The Chicago Bulls’ 132–124 win over the Houston Rockets perfectly captures the franchise’s new direction.

After moving on from veterans like Nikola Vučević, Coby White, and Ayo Dosunmu at the deadline, Chicago has fully committed to its youth — and it’s already paying off.

At the center of it all? Leonard Miller.

Leonard Miller Is a Problem

The 22-year-old forward is quickly emerging as a steal from the trade deadline.

Against Houston:

17 points, 9 rebounds
7-of-11 shooting
2-of-3 from three
10 fourth-quarter points

Miller completely flipped the game late, bringing energy, scoring, and momentum in crunch time.

Since arriving in Chicago, he’s been highly efficient:

56.6% from the field
35.9% from three

His archetype is clear: a high-motor, athletic combo forward who can run the floor, crash the glass, and now stretch the defense.

The Bulls’ New Core

Chicago is building around two pillars:

Josh Giddey: 17.5 PPG, 9.1 AST — elite jumbo playmaker
Matas Buzelis: 16.2 PPG, 1.5 BLK — two-way modern wing

This team is now fast, unselfish, and offense-driven.

Billy Donovan’s Rotation

Starters:
Giddey / Tre Jones / Buzelis / Jalen Smith / Nick Richards

Key Bench Pieces:

Collin Sexton: 25 points off the bench, pure scoring punch
Leonard Miller: energy, rebounding, scoring upside
Rob Dillingham: shot creation and pace
Patrick Williams: defensive versatility

This is a young, flexible group built on pace and spacing.

The Identity Shift

Chicago ranks:

5th in assists (28.7 APG)
116.0 PPG offensively

But the tradeoff is clear:

26th in opponent PPG (120.3)

This team can score with anyone — but they’re still learning how to defend.

The Big Picture

The Bulls are no longer chasing mediocrity — they’ve picked a direction.

Now it’s about development:

Evaluating Miller, Dillingham, and Sexton
Building around Giddey’s playmaking
Unlocking Buzelis’ two-way ceiling

If Leonard Miller keeps trending like this, Chicago may have found their long-term starting power forward.

  1. Random, but what mic do you use? Also, good video. The background silence with your voice is a good mix. A lot of similar sports videos are filled with too much filler noise.
