In a pivotal showdown in the EuroLeague Playoffs race, Real Madrid grabbed its 12th consecutive home victory by downing Hapoel 92-83 in the Spanish capital in Round 33 on Tuesday. Real Madrid improved to 21-12 in the standings and has a 2-0 record against Hapoel, which dropped to 20-12 and saw its four-game winning streak come to an end.

Mario Hezonja and Theo Maledon led the winners with 13 points apiece. Theo Maldon added 13, Trey Lyles netted 12, Facu Campazzo notched 11 and Andres Feliz added 10 for Real Madrid, which led from start to finish and had four other players scoring at least 6 points. Chris Jones led Hapoel with 15 points. Elijah Bryant added 13 while Dan Oturu and Johnathan Motley each had 10 for the guests. Real Madrid led 24-19 at the end of the first quarter, extended its margin to 45-35 at halftime and then again to 84-62 with over 6 minutes left, only allowing Hapoel to get closer once the outcome was clear.
