Celtics SNAP Thunder Streak | Shooting WOES | SGA Tried to CARRY OKC Thunder

Boston Celtics snap Oklahoma City Thunder’s 12-game winning streak as three-point shooting woes and costly defensive lapses prove decisive. Can Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s brilliance carry the Thunder through these offensive struggles, or does this loss signal deeper rotational and spacing issues heading into the playoff push?

Rylan Stiles analyzes the Thunder’s tough night, spotlighting SGA’s efficient 33-point effort and the impact of Boston’s defensive strategy. Key topics include Jalen Brown’s second-half surge, questionable OKC rotations, and the shooting slumps of Alex Caruso and Jalen Williams. Discussion centers on OKC’s vulnerability to crowded paint defenses, the critical role of shot variance, and what adjustments Mark Daigneault must consider for a deep postseason run. Are the Thunder still the West’s top contenders, or must they adapt quickly with challenging matchups looming on their schedule? Don’t miss this comprehensive game breakdown.

  1. It was clear that the three blind mice on the court tonight had already decided they were going to do whatever they could to get the Celtics this win! It's so absolutely ridiculous the favoritism the NBA league shows to these bigger market teams! Mark Davis is one of the worst officials in the NBA! And Jalen Brown is a complete free-throw merchant!

  2. Celtics baited OKC into playing thru Caruso by leaving him open and forcing Shai to give it to him. Dub and Chet offensively need to grow.

  3. It’s not even having to have Shai have the ball. Caruso knew he was missing a lot-pass the ball. I know that’s not the “right” way, but it really hurt when he missed.

  4. I get sga he trust his teammates he wants to get his partners involved but sometimes I think he’s way too passive sometimes I wish he would just go into hero ball mode like he would do last year I get it though as a leader you’re supposed to make those passes but man personally I would much rather see Sga take a contested middy rather than anybody that’s not Joe or jmac shooting an open 3

  5. Cason Caruso and Dort CANNOT be on the floor at the same time, the offense just comes to an ass grinding halt and that’s on Mark. Chet was mostly useless as well

  6. Yes, the team has to play better. Consistency is key! SGA played great, and it takes the entire team playing well consistently to win the playoffs. They will make the necessary adjustments and now they know they can’t take anything for granted. Light that fire and let’s go! I believe they can and they will! Thunder up!

  7. To keep the #1 seed, OKC can probably afford to lose one more game. The Spurs have a pretty easy schedule and the tiebreaker.

  8. I’ve played and coached for 30 years…

Can someone explain how Brown didn’t commit an offensive foul on Caso?
    Defensive positioning is irrelevant

  9. Mazzula put on a coaching clinic tonight and made Mark look pretty bad. They ran the same high PnR with two shooters in the corners and we never adjusted even after it was clear they weren’t gonna miss. Not sure why they didn’t just switch everything and stick to the shooters. If Brown beats you then fine but you can’t just continue to give up those open catch and shoot 3s

  10. It is just a regular season loss but because the Spurs are playing so well right now this gets magnified.

  11. Making the right play is fine but in the 2 half when it was obvious no one else had it going, your best player has to at least attempt to take over. Hell Luka is out there getting 30 shots up

  12. Just FWIW, Celtics played very different defense vs. the mavs in 24 finals. 24 finals, Celtics switched everything and never helped off anyone and let luka play 1 on 1 the entire series. They were fine with Luka getting his. They never helped. Meanwhile vs. OKC last night, they spammed extra defenders the entire game.

  13. It’s not three point shooting it’s j dub and Chet … how can Dort the defense specialist outscore 2 of the main 3 guys ?

  14. Although I agree on Shai not “unloading the clip” I do still feel he had 3-5 open shots he could’ve taken in this game to keep the within reach. In the long run I do think this game will be better for the Thunder.

  15. Assuming OKC can get to the finals…hoping some team can knock out the Celtics since they will be the toughest team in the East when they are hitting their 3s. It would be a great series though.

  16. Any team 10 out of 10 would live with Dort or Caruso taking the last shot in the game instead of SGA. Bad lineup at the end…should have had McCain or Joe instead of Caruso.

  17. Having these set lineups that come in at exact time grames has to stop. Watching your 11 point lead drop to 3 before making an adjustment is bad coaching. Trying to only play 32 minutes is trash if a few guys have to play 42-44 minutes to win. Go win!!

  18. This team is the best in the league. Our rotations? Some of the worst I've seen. I am starting to become a little tired and cautious of Daigenaults inability to stray from the norm and make significant adjustments.

We have arguably 3 of the best maybe 6 or 7 perimeter defenders in the league. Why don't we defend the 3?

Shai HAS to take more shots. 12 is inexcusable. I don't give a rats if he's shot 30 and makes 15. There's no way Caruso should be shooting the second most shots.

Chet and Dub need to work out who's going to be number 2 and sit with it. Until then, I don't see us beating the Spurs if we make the WCF.

  19. Unless someway somehow we get going on our shooting this year, there's absolutely no way that we can win the championship. Yes we were able to do it last year but I have a feeling that we gonna need more this time.

  20. That was Marks worst coaching performance in a long time. Just out coached from start to finish. I’m sick of his momentum killing lineups that make no sense. This isn’t a game to experiment, we need the 1 seed. He also needs to be able to counter and adjust when “hope role players miss open 3’s” doesn’t work. A lot of the bad and frustrating tendencies from last years playoffs showed up again in that game. Which is pretty concerning.

  21. The officials tightened up the entire second half. Brown played his grievences out to the crowd and the referees obliged him

  22. It's pretty bad you can't beat Boston Celtics play too wishy washy when weight loss law games they shouldn't lost they just can't handle it white spiders get hold of Spurs going to win it all

  23. So, the Thunder are a great regular season team. They're obviously a worthy champion but the regular season data and play Just skews things dramatically in a way the Casual fans don't seem to understand. There are, and there has been significant problems with the roster. Oklahoma City is great because they have an insanely High defensive floor in an insanely High defensive ceiling. However their offense is essentially SGA playing ISO and basically inconsistent role players and stars hitting open shots. It's not a generational roster, it's just a generational defense. When teams can actually plan for them there are concerns. Last year's championship run simply did not match up with the regular season performance and two of those series could have gone very poorly. The team also just doesn't look as good this year. The reality is, this is an exploitable roster and while OKC may be the betting favorites, logic says it's probably good to go with the field. Boston is a more well-rounded roster, and simply put, a superior offensive engine with the best playmaker between both of these teams. Denver is Denver and the Spurs are knocking on the door of becoming the next dynasty. I know there was a lot of OKC Dynasty talks, but the reality is, Oklahoma City very well could actually just be a team that had a two or three year window and is a one-time champion. Just like all the little blips throughout the last 20 years of the nba. I think the Thunder should still be the favorites, but the Gap they have over the field really is a result of regular season play and officiating rather than actual roster and coaching superiority. If the Thunder get to the finals, I think it's sort of like Glee that if Tatum is back to himself not only do the Thunder lose that series but they don't even get past six games
