One Point Away: Pistons Lose Thriller to Hawks

The Detroit Pistons fought hard, but came up just short in a heartbreaking 130-129 overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks. 😤🏀

This was one of those games that had everything — intensity, clutch moments, momentum swings, and a painful ending for Detroit. The Pistons battled all night long, but in the end, Jalen Johnson and CJ McCollum were the difference-makers for Atlanta when it mattered most.

For Detroit, Jalen Duren was a monster, leading the way with 26 points and continuing to show why he’s becoming one of the most dominant young big men in the league. He brought energy, toughness, and aggression all game long, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to seal the win.

This one is going to sting for Pistons fans because Detroit had opportunities to take control — but overtime once again proved how small the margin for error can be in the NBA. Still, there were some strong performances and more signs that this young team continues to fight no matter the circumstances.

    I put this on Coach JB..he could of put a stop to all the 3's by simply saying take that mf to the hole 💪🏿At certain points of the game only certain players need to be shooting 3's for us anyway.

    3's killed us on both ends!!! Our teams take 3s even when we don't need it.The Piston are the high-percentage shot team. Our guys are more suited for high percentage shots. We are not a 3-point shooting team. We make just enough to keep up, but without Cade, we have to do more to control the tempo. I loved the comeback after the half, but we fell short. I could tell our guys were tired.

    Damn that's how this game turned out the Pistons made stupid bonehead plays I don't even want to look at the highlights now because I will be so mad that we lose to a team like Atlanta when we shouldn't have GEEEEEZE

    Not making any excuses it's not easy getting those 3-point attempt rebounds I think that's why Atlanta shoots so many because they know they have a great chance if they miss of getting the rebound

    I’m a Hawks fan but much respect to u guys I love the way yall play!!! No lie I was sleeping on Cade before this season but damn he’s a beast but swear I just want a center like Duren and we’ll be good to go 💯💯 I love Onyeka but we need us a Big Dog

    If you try to beat the Hawks without shooting threes you will never win. I see that you do not watch many hawks games. The Hawks shooting was off tonight . This team have added 6 impact players since the beginning of year.

    That last Pistons possession was a foul fest. Harris basically punched Jalen Johnson to create separation for his final shot. Duren pushed off to grab the put back too.
