Reality is, a lot of people only look at the box score to base their judgments on a player. Draymond been criticized by these box score lookers his entire career. He makes the team better in so many ways and it doesn't always show up in the stat sheet.
His point about the asymmetry of criticizing Luka for lack of defense but not giving valid credit for Wemby’s was great.

Rudy by most wasn’t considered better than Trae or comparable to Trae. What’s different about wemby is that his defence is so ground breaking and game changing that it’s as impactful as some of the leagues best offensive players impact on offence, mix in that he’s a reallly impactful offensive player…it gets scary ngl

Wemby also said points aren't ALL there is on offense. He meant the fact that he draws defenses away from a whole side of the court is overlooked. "Hockey assists" aren't counted but the concept and affect on the game is huge.

I've been screaming this shit for years. Today's MVP candidates are all scorers; hardly any of them give AF about defense, and I don't know how you can be the best of 540 players and be a one-sided phenom. Giving an MVP to someone like James Harden spits in the face of players who busted their asses to contribute on both sides. (Kobe, Duncan, Jordan, Yes, Lebron too, Giannis, etc.) Wemby is MVP, and giving it to Jokic, who is an amazing offensive weapon but a LAZY ass defender, is insulting.
If any player ever went out and layed out why they are MVP we would be so mad. If LeBron, Giannis, etc. everyone would be up in arms. Then a french dude does it and its okay. What a joke.
