28:45 go KJ !!
While it might be too early in his career to call him the best defender ever, however, as of the first 3 years or this year alone, you can say he's been the most dominant defender I've seen since I've been watching basketball since the late 80s. With that said, he might not yet be the best defender ever, but if he continues to dominate on defense a few more years, then yes he will be the best defender ever
It's Most Valuable Player award. NOT Most Valuable Player on the team with the best record. FFS.
wemby finished the game with 7 blocks, and didn't play the 4th quarter. crazy
I’m a fan of the Texas teams with the Spurs in particular as my favourite team so I look forward to this pod more than any other ESPN show every week. These guys typically have balanced takes and bounce of each other so well.
Whether Victor Wembanyama wins MVP, which I believe should, or not he still is a winner. The fact that everybody are amazed and talk about his talent and basketball IQ makes him a winner.
The rockets trading for durant will go down as a bust. They would have been better off keeping green and brooks.
KELDON JOHNSON BEEN MY FAVORITE PLAYER SINCE HE DUNKED ON GRANT WILLIAMS 🐎🐎
This was a waste of my time
Both the spurs and clippers got better without Chris Paul's "coaching". Not sure if it was all that beneficial to either team ^^
Imagine Wemby in OKC, would Shai still be the MVP?
Wemby is the Best Effectual Player in the NBA HE IS THE ERASER Your man beats you to the basket, Wemby has your back Luka is a great offensive player, offensive on defense
The Rockettes snatched defeat from the jaws of victory 🤣
No he is not the best defender ever its way to early to say that these shows always want go over board
There is no reason for shai to get MVP over the scoring leader with better overall stats, or over the only player to lead the NBA in rebounds and assists while averaging a triple double and being the 7th in scoring, or the alien being amazing on the offense, and even better on defence. What is SGA doing that is better than any of those players? The only argument for SGA is that his teamates and his team is better.
Imagine being the first player to lead the league in rebounds and assists while averaging a triple double, and this mental retard thinking that he shouldn't be in the discussion, and that "jokic isn't playing up to his standard"…
Wemby is mvp, not only scoring, his defense blocking shots but just his presence in the paint deters so many shots, he makes guy change their minds…
The award is MVP
Jaylen Brown has been a more valuable player to his team than wemby…
Spurs could win a lot of games without Wemby bc their team is stacked
Boston would be a bottom of the league without JB!
That should be pretty clear to see
Acuff to the Mavs on draft night?
Improve your audio guys. Its trash
The only real argument for wemby not getting the mvp is that he shouldn't be allowed to compete with humans…
Wemby has been the DPOY in all of his 3 seasons (the Gobert DPOY 2 years ago was BS and last year Wemby didn’t play 60 games).
Last year, the Rockets looked poised to be contenders. They were a gritty clutch team ready to make a leap forward. Fast forward to this year, several things have gone terribly wrong. FVV pre season injury. DFS amounting to nothing. Then Adams goes out for the season. Ime with no offensive ingenuity or vision. Tari in huge slump. Bari in and out of slumping. Sengun regressing defensively. But even as many do, I dont blame Durant.
All that said, unless the Rockets find an offensive formula that works and some much needed swagger, they are very likely 1st round victims.
A two game gap on 82 game season is not statistically significant. They are essentially tied now. Waiting for Spurs go up 1 game shouldn’t change reasoning for either Wemby or Shai
