DISASTER: Orlando Magic COLLAPSE in worst loss ever—Franchise IDENTITY under question
The Orlando Magic suffered their worst loss in franchise history, falling 139-87 to the Toronto Raptors. What makes it worse is that they did so in a game that everyone acknowledged was vital to their Playoff chase. The Magic seem destined for the Play-In tournament and a summer of some extreme changes.
The Magic have lacked an identity all year. The defense that powered the team to the Playoffs in the last two years. But that defense has been nonexistent all year long and mediocre at best. The Magic do not know what they can rely on and what their baseline for success can be. They are in the Play-In merely because of talent that this team has failed to maximize this year.
But while it is clear that the team needs to overhaul its coaching staff and its bench, there is still the issue of this team’s fight and will. The team has struggled at the first sign of trouble all season. And having given up an NBA-record 31-0 run after taking a six-point lead, the Magic again wilted when put under a little bit of pressure once again.
Even a decent close to the season will not change a lot of the big questions the Magic will face.

did Wendall Carter Jr. have a bad hangover ?? He showed absolutely zero effort anywhere on the court. The Raptors easily punished the Magic while WCJ played traffic cone basketball.

Everything you said you “saw” is NOT coaching. You don’t coach trust in teammates, toughness, resiliency, or “gear you need to be successful in the playoffs”. Everything you mentioned with the exception to buying in, is on the players. Sure, fire Mose, but then what? Hire who? Is the new coach going to change everything you mentioned?

I was live betting the game at the half. The spread was 20.5 at half and they were down 27. I was sure they would make a run. So no problem taking them to cover that spread. In the 4th they were down 47. I was watching the spread balloon to 48.5. I only seen spread like that in college football. It's a total embarrassment to me. And a dent in my wallet. Then I realize that "It's the Magic". What's that saying. "Fool me once, shame on?". ME!!!!. JUST DISGUSTING.

Phillip, love the show! I think you do the best of any of the Locked On hosts. I also appreciate you calling out Jeff Weltman. I like Mosley, and like you, I believe he will be successful. You don’t get Luka to love you if you’re a stiff. But Weltman needs to take some responsibility this offseason because he built something that doesn’t work and I’m not sure he gets it or believes he has built a bad roster, and that’s a problem.

It's insane that this occurred to a team that has talent and for some unknown reason can't get it together consistently. The Orlando Magic is bound for the play-in and hopefully it will motivate them to fight harder to get into the playoff round, when the play-in starts in a few weeks.

I keep saying Jeff Weltman needs to go!! I have not been watching any game this season because of the lack of inconsistency and players on the team that can score. It’s the same thing every season and Weltman does not draft for offense and does the bare minimum to add depth to the team. He has had almost 10 years and now its time to go!!
