Raptors ANNIHILATE Magic 139- 87 in Toronto, Post Game Reaction / Barnes 23PTS 15AST 5REB 3STL

Tonight’s matchup: Toronto Raptors (41-32, 5th in the Eastern Conference) host the Orlando Magic (39-34, 8th/9th in the East).

The Raptors, fresh off a 119-106 win over New Orleans, sit in the No. 5 spot and are fighting to secure a top-6 seed and avoid the play-in tournament. A victory would widen their cushion over the Magic (who trail by about two games) and other chasers like the Heat, while clinching the season-series tiebreaker in this rubber match (series currently 1-1, with home teams winning prior games).

The Magic arrive on a three-game road skid and need a win to keep pressure on Toronto and stay alive in the tight playoff race.

Expect a competitive battle for crucial late-season positioning, with the Raptors favored at home as they aim to solidify their surprising playoff positioning under coach Darko Rajaković.

  1. Nice to see you happy Mike. Tell me, what do you think of Fultz's chances of sticking with the Raptors. Personally, i really like Fultz. However, i feel Darko should have Scottie "Magic" Barnes. running point full time or at the very least at the 2. Mike, i honestly think Weltman might have made a mistake in trading for Bane, giving up so much…i think it might have upset some of the chemistry they had from last year. I know Franz has missed a lot of games but still. Your thoughts.

  2. ,Poetl and Barnes doing their best Laimbeer and Mahorn. Geez, i remember the Baltimore Bullets (before they became the Washington Wizards) "bruise brothers" Jeff Ruland and Rick Mahorn.

  3. More games like this. Once we put in the effort, good things can happen. No BI so ball not sticking

  4. RJ!!! Scottie!!! Maybe Lawson deserves more time with the big team?? Every Raptor played great, Magic never even woke up. Let's keep up the intensity and the defensive pressure.

  5. Kevin McHale said "Magic and Larry could control the game with 12 shots." Scottie only took 14 shots tonight, he's on his way.

  6. Mosley is gone. What a disgrace. Magic players have quit on him. I wouldn't be surprised if he was fired in a couple days.

  7. What I say? 😊 Scottie in the middle, not off in the corners. If Sb is gonna direct the style of play, some of the roster issues may be easier to work with. Good stuff Mike

  8. Absolutely agree on the point guard take. Better spacing whilst he is on the ball and can have IQ space out the court that much more. He racks up easy assists, and team racks up easy or free points. We know he can handle any position defensively. Defense and passing are what this raptors team emphasizes and pushes the most, and it just so happens that Scottie Barnes' elite skills are defense and passing. So they just need to fully lean into that as opposed to what they have done, which is give him that opportunity in spurts. Give it to him full time. 8-15 assists could legit be a normal occurrence through the way SB naturally plays.

  9. Another great game. In this one we step on our opponents and didn't let up.

We need to stay aggressive and close out the season with a streak. This will help us build consistency so we can give Celtics and Knicks some holy hell!

  10. So this is what superstar Scottie Barnes looks like, even Jack said Barnes needs to bring this mentality to destroy every night, I watched part of the game and was smiling like you Mike 😅

  12. I don't think Scottie has good enough handles to be point guard as such, but the ball should definitely go through him on offense far more frequently. He's not just our best facilitator he's also arguably our best scorer when he puts his mind to it.

  13. Disagree on point scottie. Yes he needs the ball more, but hes not breaking the def off the dribble. And thats why we need a point. We saw point scottie last year… and scotties biggest stregth is versitility. Dont box him in. When we need it its there, but lets not force him one direction. Hes sooo much more then a point guard.
