Dude, if you are really good in analyzing stats, are you blind not to see that teams already figure out Houston's weakness? Its KD because once they double team, triple team KD, their offense collapsed. Once KD got substituted, rockets lead collapsed. Rockets defense collapsed compared to their first few games wherein you can feel the the team's intensity. Right now, their is no fun to watch and you can see on how they play. There might be some games wherein you feel the sense of teamwork specially if they are winning but most of the time, they are just bunch of players who are playing individually not as a team! I can't blame anyone but it has to be the coach who should see this. The consistency of shooters in rockets players is questionable and the coach style is not that that flexible meaning he cant adjust immediately to a specific plan of the opponent once the game started. Maybe the coach should create more plays that is suitable to counterattack the defense of their opponent. Now that the teams already saw Houton's weakness, expect games wherein they will focus on guarding KD more since he is the main weapon of the team while his teammates have inconsistent contributions.
It’s also important to bring up the shortcomings of amen Thompson, sengun, and tari Eason. There’s times where the defense literally ignores them and just doubles Durant or Sheppard because they are the only ones on the floor shooting above 30% from 3
Losing Vanvleet and his ability to organize possessions was a huge blow. Losing Adams and the ability to mitigate their offensive shortcomings was the final nail in the coffin.
If offensive rebounds are what you’re depending on, you’re already screwed. You need offensive rebounds because YOU CANT SHOOT…😂 Fix that! Get shooters and you won’t have to rely of offensive rebounds
Remember they lost to the Kings 3 out of the 4 times this season and they had their guys all healthy except for Fred… That tells a lot about this team and their pieces that they don’t work or mesh. Kevin Durant wants nothing to do other than just score but guy can’t play defense or get stops and is always hunting for the switch. Literally almost no one generates offense except Sengun in the paint, KD with Shepard and occasionally Amen. Everyone else is a dark hole on offense combined with poor defense lapses where everyone is asking who’s switching with who. Every other team exploits them for this that’s why they get blown by or get baited for fouls consistently. Their turnovers are also bad because no one knows what they’re running as of course there’s really no point guard to help facilitate. Everyone is either expecting to pass Sengun down low or KD on ISO or Shepard on 3 with Amen on cuts but that’s not gonna get you no where if you’ve got tunnel vision guys just looking at ball majority of the time. Rebounds for a team that has length gotta be this team’s 🗡️. They literally don’t rebound against other teams or give up way too much because everyone is wondering who’s grabbing it as well. A lot of who’s doing what for this team. They lack team chemistry and drive altogether and no one is a real dog. KD is a dog but one that isn’t loyal to the team for sure as he’s hunting his next team already lol.
