Already disrespecting this market and this city is NOT a good start. He obviously has no interest in winning over fans. He isn't even trying to fake like he's getting to know the market, or picking out some positive aspects to comment on. I don't like the sound of this at all. Dundon has no ties to this city and if he can find a better situation elsewhere, what's stopping him from taking his team and leaving?
"SELL THE TEAM!" for years. oh… but not to THIS evil billionaire. FFS. Portland is insufferable. He didn't come across as nice, but was he supposed to individually rub everyone's shoulders gently?
People in a position to buy an entire sports team aren't there by considering anyone else's feelings. I would expect no different from any other purchaser.
I love the comments. It's also a two way street. Put a successful team on the court and the fans will respond. Professional sports is not a feel good business. I love the Blazers, but have been super-frustrated with the 'softness' I often see on the court.
Being nice in Portland is kinda all you got going for you as a business person. Our community will boycott a crappy business/business owner in a heart beat on principle. This will be interesting.
I predict Dunden will come to etting despise the liberal woke Portlanders and their lick spittle media and move the team to Austin, Texas.
Maybe Portlanders should vote differently and see that this trend isnā€™t workingā€¦
