We Need To Talk About What This NBA Player Is Doing

Cade Cunningham might just be the player to return the MVP award to America, (cause since 2018 it’s been won by an international player), thanks to his insane rise from the depths of the NBA, with the Detroit Pistons setting the leagues longest losing streak in 2024, to tripling their wins in 2025, and now, potentially on the path to the NBA Finals.

But, how did Cade Cunningham, born in Arlington, Texas, the son of a Football player, even become this elite? And, how did he go from the worst season in NBA History, to likely ending the 2025 – 2026 NBA season as the Number 1 seed in the Eastern Conference?

Well, join me, as we talk about what Cade Cunningham is doing.

  1. I watched every game in that terrible season up until Ausar was diagnosed with blood clots 😢 The growth and turn around that the org has made has me believing they’ll win it all soon, after a few moves šŸ¤·šŸæā€ā™‚ļø šŸ’Æ.

  2. Excellent video!

It’s too bad that Cade Cunningham is going to miss all the accolades he deserves; NOT because of the collapsed lung or the arbitrary 65-game rule but because of the rise of Daniss Jenkins.

Daniss Jenkins (& Jalen Duren) has essentially kept the Pistons afloat after Cade’s injury. It’s like he wasn’t all that important to the current success of the franchise; Cade definitely started the resurgence but he might not even be the final’s MVP if the Pistons win it all.

  3. Their lack of perimeter shooting and refs giving Wemby the Weak would cause them against the Spurs. The frenchman who always kiss the floor when contact is initiated would give them a problem. They need to alter by having Duren and Stew play together and leave Ausar to the bench. You can't have two perimeter liabilities against Wemby the Weak.

  4. Ngl, I was shook last year after starting 0-4, but we lost those games by a couple of points. We looked like a team that just got together but already figuring things out

  5. I don't think I've heard the term 'Michigan's NBA franchise/team' before today in 40+ years of living in Metro Detroit. It's the kind of phrase a 5th grader comes up with to describe something when the subject of the sentence is the only thing they've changed in an otherwise copied verbatim article, thinking that's how you avoid plagiarism. I'm not saying this is plagiarism. I'm saying it's such an unnatural term it makes you go, "Why are you using that? No one talks about Boston like "Massachusetts's NBA franchise. I mean, yea, it's an accurate term, but no one says that." It's just funny. Detroit. Pistons. The Detroit Pistons. Motor City team even. You have the same options you'd have for any team that isn't the sole pro team in their state. No reason to do it differently just because it's the only one. Just some good-natured ribbing. You keep doing you.

  6. The nba is a cheap circus with their betting and taking $ from 9/11 country who help with hijackers, interviews during the game and greedy advertising during the game on your screen…Globetrotters are better.

  7. You said you were going to talk about how he might save the NBA… This video is just a chronology of Cade.

  8. He was the #1 overall pick. He was never doubted by the NBA. He was always expected to be a star. He was injured his first couple years and the Pistons had no one on those teams to help him. Including no good vet players to help him out. Those Pistons teams were ass. Anyone that knows ball knew Cade was going to be a Superstar in the NBA eventually.

The Pistons were legit the worst team in the League for like 5 seasons in a row and all they got out of it was one first overall pick and then fell to the 5th pick 3 years in a row. That’s why I hate the Lottery season.

  9. Pistons got screwed by the refs last playoffs not calling a foul on THJ at the end of the game down by 1 with no time left. The series should’ve went to game 7 and if it did anything could’ve happened. The NBA even came out and said that they missed that call.

Pistons are going to the ECF this year. LFG

  10. Cade will be back before the Playoffs and all the Pistons have to do is win 4 of their last 8 games and they get the first seed and home advantage throughout the playoffs.

  11. Going from having one of the worst losing streaks in NBA history, to making the playoffs next season and being the 1st seed now is a massive accomplishment.

  12. Cade a beast, but the Pistons are still hot with Daniss taking over. Wemby is damn good, but how long is that toothpick frame going to hold up?

  13. If it weren't for the ridiculous draft lottery, they would also have Wembanyama. Think about that for a minute.

  14. Love that we have Cade in Detroit. He’s the kind of player on the court and just overall kinda guy that I like seeing define and represent the franchise and its identity.

  15. Can we talk about of the quality of this video? the storytelling, research, everything is so on point. This deserves more views.

  16. Great video, but in the opening minute you mentioned how Cade could "save the NBA," but you never circle back to that bold statement. Just wondering why that line was thrown in there…?

  17. I started following Cade in college and started rooting for the pistons when they drafted him. Through thick and thin it’s starting to finally pay off. Really excited about the future
