  1. Games like this make me somewhat uncomfortable about Harden. This was simply a low effort game from Harden but since Harden is definitely human athletically, Draymond was able to guard just about everything Harden could do. Trapping pick and rolls with Harden, Harden passes the ball to a big and Draymond knows exactly what to do and where to be, the bigs attacking 1vs1…everything. Draymond wasn’t exactly trying a ton (just like Harden) but he’s a schematic nightmare for a guy like Harden and the Cavs in 2026.

While this game is somewhat of an anomaly( I’d rather face Wemby than Draymond if both were on contenders as the Cavs), I’ve had the feeling that we’re trying to win in-spite of Harden’s flaws an uncomfortable amount of times.

Harden helps with the defense, rebounding and with setting up the others, especially the bigs but I don’t really trust him to be the individual force that the Cavs might actually need to break down any defense. Being good at the ancillary stuff to the point that the team has no weaknesses is fine but what does it actually mean to have as many limitations as an advantage creator and finisher as this version of Harden has? The good news is that he seems to be in even better shape than last season and is having a better season than last season so that’s nice.

Especially against the Celtics, there’s a level of predictability that the Cavs have this season with Harden but didn’t have last season because of Garland that I’m just getting anxious about. That’s all

  2. Ngl I think Mobley would be a much better fit off the bench and let Dean Wade take his spot in the starting 5. He’s a pretty good defender and a much better threat from deep. The spacing will do wonders for Donovan and Harden
