Nick Friedell: Bulls should fire entire front office, offer Bob Myers the job and a blank slate

On the Spiegel & Holmes Show, Audacy NBA insider Nick Friedell expressed his astonishment over the Bulls continuing to employ executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley. Friedell explained that the Bulls are viewed as a “joke” around the NBA, and he believes they need to clean house and offer the lead executive job to former Warriors executive Bob Myers. As a blueprint, he cited how the Cubs cleaned house and hired Theo Epstein as their lead executive in 2011.

  1. Wait a minute? Without Michael Jordan, the Reinsdorf family has murdered two franchises in Chicago. Absolutely murdered.

  2. You remember when that narcissistic stupid bastard Jerry Krause said that players don’t win championships, organizations do? He’s been getting proved wrong ever since Jordan left.

  3. Shoutout to the bulls organization knowing the idiotic fan base will still support the franchise. It’s all entertainment. Enjoy the circus!

  4. Holmes and 670 can’t say the Bulls are ass, so they have on Nick to say it for them

  5. Wouldn’t it be so Chicago Bulls if they fire AK and hire Nico Harrison?! Hahahaha

  6. I hope the good people in Chicago can swim as I pray every day for the Shitty of Chicago to fall into Lake Michigan.

  7. The Bulls ownership care more about 90's Bulls nostalgia than winning basketball games. Those loyal fans deserve better than that garbage product.

  8. If the bulls got lucky and git the 1st pick who in the world would want AK THE MORON making that pick? Nobody!! AK is the single worst executive in pro sports history

  9. The ownership don’t care and they are cheap asf , they lead the league for so long in season tickets that’s what they consider winning and people spend there hard earned money to go to the games and we barely have a winning team smh we deserve better

  10. Bob Myers seem too good for this organization would he even consider thjs team they probably wont pay up like the Bears did

  11. Billy Donovan is responsible also……this idiot still plays Pbum Williams nightly …..why? Because he is overrated. He let young players languish on the bench without trying to develop them and instead played worn out bums like Vucbum who played no d and pouted.

  12. Nick Friedell pops up like a zit to annoy the hell out of Chicago every few weeks. And he ain't wrong about the bulls.thays what annoys me

  13. Trading Ayo was the final straw for me. Bulls are and have been boycotted until GM/management is fired. Ayo just got a triple double the other day. This is beyond pathetic from AKME only b/c they didn't want to pay up for Ayo to stick around

  14. Bulls killed this guys career …. I hope my spurs give him a job ….. He’s a very good player with a ton of upside.

  15. Jerry was too loyal and too slow to pull the plug on GarPax and now Michael is too loyal and too slow to pull the plug on Karnisovas and Eversley. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

  16. Not a big NBA guy but why do we think Billy Donvan is good? He has had one season over 500 in 5 years as the head coach and has never made it past the first round since his first year with the Thunder

  17. Anything Reinsdorf is horrible. The White Sox at least are getting new ownership in 3 years. Reinsdorf needs to sell the Bulls too asap!

  18. The organization has been a joke for the longest time. Going back to the Derrick Rose era, free agency was loaded and the best player they could come up with was Carlos Boozer???
You get a guy like Lamelo, often injured, and then extend him?
Oh yeah, and you're on the edge of winning ring #6 and decide to dismantle the entire thing at the end of the season, no matter the outcome. Nice job punting away what could have been 2 more rings.

  19. While Bob Myers did hire Steve Kerr for the Warriors he didn't draft Steph Curry, Klay Thompson or Draymond Green. Reminds me Stan Bowman in that regard, and Blackhawks went downhill after Scotty Bowman left the Blackhawks as special adviser, so who knows who was pulling the strings really.

  20. I took pride in being a CHICAGO sports fan, and on any given day I could name you at least 15 players on each Chicago pro team; Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs, White Sox, Bears. Today? I couldn't name 5, FIVE! Bulls, Blackhawks or White Sox. It's not that I fell out of love with sports, but it's one thing to lose, but it's a whole other thing to not even try. The level of incompetence in the front offices of the Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox is laughable. Since Rocky Wirtz passed, the Hawks have been a clownshow. Since Michael Jordan left the Bulls, they haven't been taken seriously, and that includes the Derrick Rose era. Jerry Reinsdorf pulled the ultimate self sabotage when he hired that relic Tony LaRussa when his GM wanted to hire A.J. Hinch. Wonder how many players would still be around if Rick Hahn was allowed to do his job? Right now the Cubs and the Bears are the saving grace for Chicago sports wise.

  21. Until attendance dips/the team loses significant money they won't change anytime soon the Bulls make $$$ losing with attendance in the top 10 in the league

  22. call me crazy but unless they make MASSIVE changes for the FO this offseason, we're gonna see an all time low in attendance and merchandise sales. unless somehow the bulls become an incredibly good, playoff-run type team things are gonna change
