The Heat are cheap and always think they can low ball teams in trades. Pat is old and needs to step down and let a new younger GM take over
I hear what Mike is saying, it is more than just the lack of moves this year. It's not even having the ability to make moves that make not just this season but seasons past as the issue. Who is the building piece going forward? Who is the pieces that the Heat are willing to give up in order to progress the roster?
Is Amin getting paid by Pat Riley? How else can he defend this?
I think Mike is mainly right with noticeable exceptions like the Blazers not biting at when the Heat tried for Jrue Holiday and couldn’t close the deal with more assets. At some point, the game plan becomes the game, less so than the on-court results and it’s obvious. Outside of Bam, who on their roster is a needle mover?

The Heat’s biggest mistake was over evaluating Bam. Now there are 10 team in the East, maybe more including Pacers with Siakam & Haliburton who have 2 players better than Bam. Bam is 29 not 23 & now the Heat are at a huge talent deficient thinking Bam was a player worth building around and paying max $

I think everyone was being unfair to Mike. Guessing there was at least a dozen players that changed uniforms, that are better than the roster Miami is carrying.
Mike was making a simple point and Amin just lost a lot of his credibility, and I'm very sad to have to say that. Amin knows basketball (I believe), and for him not to suggest what would've been a good strategy, puts him in the tired front office, who couldn't think of 1 idea. "News Alert" NP & TH can't play on the same team. NP was a gift, that could've turned into Vuc. One of the worst pods you guys have ever produced. The team is missing a backup 5, and a backup 4, while carrying 3 point guards, and 4 shooting guards. And the saddest part, this argument shows how bad the front office has been for toooo long

Amin is being dense, he knows there are several players on that team that they could’ve traded for picks/cap flexibility, Miami just didn’t shop them, which is why those deals never came.
