This could be totally wrong… but what if they don’t feel like they’re playing for anything anymore? As in when they were playing great the were fighting to be in the play offs (top 6 seed) seems like ever since that was unrealistic thy lost that fight. I’m really hoping that’s the case honestly because if it is, then I expect that edge to come back in the play in and play offs. That’s not an excuse just a possible reason why th fire isn’t there lately
You let Brooks Allen and Gillespie build an identity and then we said let’s dial it back guys Jalen green is back. Their roles are all minimized by his presence and there has been a stark lack of cohesion ever since. I don’t mean to make him the scape goat but objectively that’s what happened. Maybe everyone get acclimated and it just was always going to take a full season with Jalen to do so but stylistically, I doubt that.
I agree with you that defense has killed the Suns in the last part of the season. The problem is that the way they played in the first half of the season is not sustainable for an entire 82 game season. In college basketball they play the way the Suns did before the break because that's their entire season. Less than half of the NBA s season.
😅The Suns are getting killed by length. They're getting beat by longer athletic teams getting easy baskets on them because of their lack of size. We thought we had length at the beginning of the season. But Ott settled for smaller line ups instead of developing the Suns size. IE Maluach and Fleming. With Williams he could have developed him too in the post. But he didn't. He never gave him enough touches for him to develop any kind of a post game.
Most of Jordan Otts offense especially in the last 50 games has been spread the floor and shoot threes. Allot like Bud's offense. To be honest. Ott hasn't done what he said he would do when he got here using a varied offense. It's been spread the floor shoot threes and ISO ball. He's not been the coach at all that they said we were getting.
Jalen greens emergence (high usage) has created a disjointed iso scoring. The style play before was so combo guard interchangeable style of play. Zero flow now.

Edge? They are GUTLESS TRASH. They never had an edge. They play for 1 to 3 quarters then GIVE UP at some point.
