When You’re The Most Athletic Player EVER But Can’t Shoot

When You’re The Most Athletic Player EVER But Can’t Shoot

Amen Thompson might be the most athletic player in the NBA, but there’s one massive question hanging over his future: what happens if the jump shot never comes? In this video, I break down why Amen’s elite speed, defense, playmaking, and finishing already make him a problem — and whether a team can truly be built around a star who can’t shoot. If you love NBA analysis, player development, Houston Rockets basketball, and the future of Amen Thompson, this is the video for you.

  1. Finally Mike is back😂 everyone is recently making this in depths basketball vids like Mike ain’t start it let’s do this Mike

  2. That’s the problem if you’re that wide open that teams dare U 2 shoot the 3 U don’t!!! U either attack the rim or take a close shot.

  3. Oof; saw the title… knew u were immediately talking about Amen 😅.. i mean Ben 😂… i mean Oops same archetype ..lol

  4. Amen Thompson isn't afraid to shoot that's the good thing, at least he tries, he'll grow out of it, he just needs some adjusting

  5. @6:44 you saud Amen is 4th in the league in dunks, I couldn't believe it so I asked gemini and Amen doesn't crack top 10 in dunks this season where did you find that, Amen was 4th it sounds made up.

  6. “He truly is a one of one player” (while he has a identical twin thats doing damn near the exact same things)

  7. Amen isn't that athletic compared to 1st Cleveland stint Lebron tbh. I've watched first Cleveland stint Lebron dunk from only about foot within the free throw line against he Bucs, and he did it effortlessly. It looked like he easily could have dunked from farther. Im not even sure Amen is more athletic than Zion.

  8. This is what people never understood about Rudy Gobert. They would laugh at how bad he was offensively, but his defensive impact is so massive it doesn't matter. He's only 2 spots behind Thompson in win share at 10th. Wolves and Jazz fans get it. Houston fans are seeing with with Amen Thompson. Unfortunately for Gobert, and this may be the issue with Thompson as the video talks about, is that Gobert would get figured out in the playoffs. From game to game, in the dog days of an 82 game schedule they dominate. But in the playoffs, even bad defensive players step up their D, so the impact isn't as big. Plus, they get more time and opportunity to solve the great defensive player. we'll see if that issue plagues Amen, but I do love a great defender myself, so I am rooting for him.

  9. I am not a big sports guy, but the quality of NBA content creators are so damn good, I am hooked at learning basketball. Great work.

  10. hes 100% nowhere near the most athletic player ever lol. we just haves such little insane athletes like we used to now that he stands out. hes not vince carter, MJ, Tmac, Lebron, Dwade, Russ, Anthony edwards, Jason Richardson, Gerald Wallace, Desmond Mason, Gerald Green, Shannon Brown, Dr. J, David Thompson, Clyde Drexler, Dominique Wilkins, etc i can name many more athletic guys than Amen and Ausar.

  11. Amen is an amazing defender, athletic, fast, and despite not being able to shoot, he is not afraid to try unlike Ben Simmons. He is not letting his confidence lose

  12. bro there’s a script they have to follow cause it’s entertainment so players that don’t shoot threes usually have something in the contract preventing them from practicing or shooting threes which forms the media eye

  13. Amen at this point is an andre iguodala + guy.

    A point foward.

He is working in his handles & shot, hes still young.

He lost primary ball handling…. good. At this point he is a SF guy.

  14. I imagine this was what San Antonio had hoped for Sochan but the arrival of Castle, Harper and Bryant put an end to that development.

  15. You know, it would still be bad to leave him wide open in the playoffs. They aren't going to come defend him fast enough if he just take a couple steps and hits a middy… If I know im a good teammate, i might encourage him to try it just to keep defenses honest.
