But, unfortunately Luka Doncic has suffered a grade two hamstring strain against the Oklahoma City Thunder which will keep him out the rest of the NBA regular season and likely for the first round of the NBA Playoffs. It’s a devastating blow that puts a lot of pressure on LeBron James and Austin Reaves and likely ends all chances of making a run

The games missed threshold is what it is. An exception for Luka, should mean and exception for Anthony Edward's and one for Cade Cunningham. In which case, it wouldn't really be a threshold.
Besides Luka would have made the cutoff in his final game, had he not been suspended the game before due to excessive technical fouls. This after the league had rescinded the previous tech that would have kept him out a game.
He had multiple chances in other words.
Maybe this experience will teach him to keep his temper in check and stop arguing with refs going forward.
I couldn't root for a guy to win MVP who complains as much as he does.
Anyway, I wish him a good recovery. The Lakers could potentially beat Houston in a first round series without him. That's the only way we see him play again this year.

I guess the problem in the NBA is that the medical staff allows players with hamstring injuries to come back earlier than they should due to fear of been seen as load management. In soccer players this injury also happens a lot, but they always wait 2 to 3 months to came back because they know that just healing the muscle isn't enough. It's also needed some weeks of physiotherapy to regain strength on them to exactly avoid reocurrence. In soccer there are much more players but hamstring reocurrence almost never happens in tha same season, but soccer players absolutely not play trough or play with them at all.
I’m not saying it’s a guarantee that the Lakers get passed the first round without Luka, but people acting like it’s an impossibility that they can beat Houston or Minnesota in the first round is crazy to me.

What a load of useless babble … Even with a healthy Luka the Lakers' season is over … Trade Luke to the Bucks for Giannis and get new young players around Giannis to cope with OKC and Spurs.
They should just shut him down for the year and prep for the offseason when they can really build their team around him. This current roster wasn't good enough for a title run without major injuries to both SA and OKC anyway.
