I agree that he broke the contractual agreement. However the NBA is far from the golden standard of morality.

Biggest thing is location and owning their arena, the Warriors own Chase Center so the land in San Francisco plus the revenue from the arena outside of basketball are all included in the team’s value. Knicks and MSG are up there for the same reason I think.

The only thing keeping the Lakers from being number one is we don’t own our arena like the Knicks and Warriors… that’s not really a part of basketball I care about but once every season or two when I see this brought up, I wish we owned our own arena😢.
