Yes, Wemby is a great defender but how good is he actually as a defender if he wasn’t 9 feet tall. Ausar is easily the best defender fundamentally in the NBA.

Jenkins is not getting near enough credit. He deserves his whole episode. What he is doing is insane. It’s not fair to hold him to higher standards than all these other guys. Duren, Ausar and Holland all have there own problems. Daniss has less experience than all of them. He has been busting the leagues ass. He should be given a longer leash than any of them. What he is doing is insane

The Pistons have already proved themselves when they took the Thunder to overtime with their starters out except for Ausar and if they had made a couple of free throws they would have won that game easily.
At this point I think if Huerter and LeVert played the exact same that Ku would say Kevin was brilliant and Caris meh.
Ausar has been the 2nd best player all season. Defense is half the game and he's one of the best.

Ausar is worth more than $25-$30 MM/year and he's only going to get better. $30MM is low for a player of his caliber

I’m not wishcasting or anything but I think it’s highly probable that Wemby misses significant time. He’s already missed a decent amount of games in his young career, but there’s almost no precedent for a guy near his size in the NBA that doesn’t miss big stretches due to injury. So DPOY is likely on the table for Ausar in future years.

Honestly, if Duren can ever develop similar offensive impact like Wemby, where his paint gravity is so strong that his weak side has to help, which leads to skip passes to the corner for three-pointers. Reason why we haven’t seen much of that because Cade blitz most of the time and Duren not passing that at much compared to past seasons. All they literally have to do is draft or get a two way wing and they gonna have a top 5 offense next season
