Horst speaks on messy Bucks, Jericho Sims triple-double!!
The Milwaukee Bucks continue to be a sloppy mess on and off the court. The Bucks lost to both the Nets and Pistons this week which is good for their draft position, but the Giannis Antetokounmpo situation continues to hang over everything else. The latest updates come from Bucks GM Jon Horst doing a Q&A with local media, which hosts Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti break down in depressing detail. Thankfully we did get some Sims inspired Bucks trivia at the end of the show!

I am heart broken. I wanted at least 3 hours after all of those articles.
Horst's responses were STRAIGHT OUTTA CHAT for sure. I mean–It's not like I've talked to chat about all this like a therapist or anything… I would never… but if I had, those types of comments and specific phrasing are exactly what Chat would've told me.
I don't think this is coming from Giannis or Rogue Agent. I think other teams executives that had these conversations, are who share the information–Shams specified he gathered certain information from another team executive who was "granted anonymity" for talking. So, that's the hill I'll die on til proven otherwise.
And these Horst comments are why Giannis knows that there isn't a chance here anymore. When your GM thinks or is willing to lie that Doc has done a "masterful job" this season, then you know he's brown nosing. You know he isn't serious about identifying the best solutions. And Giannis obviously saw that before the rest of us did.
The bucks “going for it” is gonna set this team back a decade. I’m sick of trying to get excited about a potential 45 win team. Who knows if the post GA bucks would be good but it almost certainly will be a team with less drama
The rogue agent bit will never get old. Always puts a smile on my face in these trying times.
This story is as simple as Giannis said to the FO, "yo, Doc is not working out" and Horst said "well ownership wanted me to hire him, so we're gonna roll with that" then Giannis said "Well if you're keeping Doc, you need to move me." And Horst said "cool, we'll do that, like we promised we would when you signed in 2023 if things fell off the rails" doesn't move Giannis "Hey, this team is good Giannis. Trust me, this team is good. You're gonna be the 4th seed cause Doc can take you there" And then Giannis goes "okeyyyyyyyy"
fast forward to December "Horst, you said we'd be good and we are trash. can we look into that trade now, my career is disintegrating before my eyes" Horst retorts "Nah Giannis, Doc can actually still turn this around. You will make the play-in and be happy" Stays 11th all season, failing to both tank and to make the play in Giannis "hey the thing is we still aren't actually winning, and this Doc stuff has gone on too long. Also, you all promised me to start this season I'd play with my lil bro and now you're refusing to let me play. That's fucked"
Meanwhile back at the ranch: FANBASE: trashes Giannis, tears down his legacy, spits on his contributions, blames him like he’s the GM (he’s not), calls him a diva, excuses the organization backing out of promises, pins roster decisions on him, villainizes him for his frustration with the organization for lying and of course for investing in Kalshi which makes him public enemy #1 while the rest of us casually consume a league and media ecosystem built on gambling and act morally superior to the guy donating millions to underserved communities, says we’d be better if the 15th/2-way spots were different low-talent guys instead of the bros, and is ready to move on because he’s a “lying diva” and responsible for all of our problems and can't wait for Horst to draft his way back into contention

Ryan Rollins being the second best player is nowhere near being as clear cut as you guys make it sound. It is certainly debatable.
Not letting Ti get away with bringing up outsourcing ttrpg elements to AI. That's just sad.
As a DM, a massive draw of being a DM is to voice the characters and use it as a creative outlet. Why be a DM if you don't want to play the NPCs? Why play a ttrpg if you just want to interact with a chatbot? Just a complete failure of what communal storytelling and roleplaying should be. Expediency instead of creativity.
Enjoyed the podcast as usualy. Love Giannis' "rogue ageny". The more that comes out, the more absurd that becomes.
Thinking about tanking and lottery odds is never that interesting to me but that's where we are as a fanbase right now.
