DEPTH CHART DILEMMA: Orlando Magic Face PRESSURE to Upgrade Roster
The Orlando Magic are under a lot of pressure during a critical offseason. With the team bumping into the cap restrictions, they have three clear needs to fill this offseason and few avenues to fill them with free agency and the Draft.
That will lead to some uncomfortable questions. If the Magic are committed to sticking with their starting lineup, they will not be able to address all the holes in their roster. That could lead them to make the inevitable trade to more evenly spread out their talent and salary commitments.

Two words i got from this: We’re screwed
Cain deserves rotation minutes.
A lot of people are panicking that “we’re screwed, we don’t have flexibility to make moves”. I honestly look at it through a whole different lens. Magic are cap strapped because they have their core already. That’s an encouraging sign. That’s the first step in contending for a championship. And IF IF IF Magic do think this core isn’t good they still have flexibility to make changes by trading Suggs/Wendell. They have a good salary slot to make a good deal.

Phil, you’ve brought it up on a few different videos now. Turning Suggs into 2 players that are smaller contracts than his. I just fail to see how that helps the Magic if the idea is to upgrade the PG position. Unless you think someone out there on the market is mis-priced? I agree they need more from their bench, but the way I see it is the Magic have another season to see if a new coach can get more out of the current core before making hard trade decisions.

I’m confused on the why we need changes in the roster if the problems were coaching. Which is it? We changed the coaching, so why meddle with the roster greatly? If it was the roster, why fire Mosley? Sure, it can be both, but how do you know for sure unless you give the part you already changed a chance first? Lol just insanity.
I love to hear this delusional magic take …. As long as the GM… is comfortable no moves will be made he just signed an extension…..Suggs and Carter should have been gone last yr…..But the GM doesn’t know how to win a trade the Bane trade was one of the worst in team history …..
