For reference, the average NBA mascot salary is 60,000.

He gets paid 10 times as much as the average mascot, possibly due to when the Nuggets almost committed Accidental Manslaughter by hanging him from the rafters.

so he makes 625k per year, only having to play home games and getting several months off every year? damn

Benny the Bull frantically calling his agent

GOATED WITH THE SAUCE OR IS HE HIM THO?

  5. Wnba players don’t get paid that much. Shit they should just put on the costume.

That is a lot but I also imagine it’s hard work to get paid that much specifically

a lot of stunts, lot of constant energy and probably thinking up routines and bits, probably PR stuff where he has to go around a lot of the time or any events etc, wearing one of those suits for hours at a time probably sucks ass too, isn’t that even the same guy that passed out when being lowered from the ceiling too?

i mean i imagine a lot of people would be fine with it but the average person probably wouldn’t wanna do it/wouldn’t be able to do it lol

The performers inside these costumes know that they are great at what they do. And can therefore charge a premium.

Sure you could hire a lesser known performer, but you’re going to get a lesser performance.

Guessing most others make around 1000-2000 a game and 41 home games means about 41-82k. About right tho some of them do a lot more appearances than just game days so ofc they make more.

Mascot entertainment is not exactly a solo job to pull off. They got the whole team working on it. Benny the Bull got two vans parked outside of the United Center most of the times.

  10. 3x more than benny the bull, that’s pretty nuts… does anytone know how much the raptor makes? If they live in the city it has to be at least 120k

Tbf the shooting percentage on a behind the back halfcourt shot justifies it

I believe for the original Rocky this very well may have been the case. It was the same man inside the suit from the original in 1990, and he was actually promoted to be in charge of all in-arena entertainment I believe, so he was more than just a mascot.

However one (or two) seasons ago he stepped a side and his son, who was previously the pistons mascot hooper, took over his role as Rocky.

So maybe this salary is accurate for the OG, but don’t imagine that would be the case for the current one? Unless the original is still working in his management role, and they’re combining the two of their salaries into one?
