Not surprised, it was either trade him with Duncan Robinson (Tyler isn’t making much money this season) or extend him
Am I missing something? Why repost this in the Raps subreddit?
I think there’s 2 notable points for this related to the Raptors:
1. Fred’s max extension he can sign before the season starts is 4/114m. With Herro signing this, I’d be surprised if he settled for that.
2. Gary Trent Jr is a very comparable player to Herro, but doesn’t get nearly as much attention. Herro getting 4/130m means that we should be expecting to pay GTJ 4/100m at minimum.
It will also help if we need to convince GTJ to shift to the bench. As long as you play well you will get paid whether you are a starter or 6th man.

Gary is probably getting closer to 4 year 120million. Just seems like too much. Brunson got 4/104 million, RJ got 4/120 million as comparables. Left wondering what Fred is asking for.
