[Cody Westerlund] Patrick Williams on coming off bench: “My job is to be productive. My job is to go out there and use my talents and help the team win. I think that’s everybody’s job. It’s not up to me when or where my name gets called. My (job) is to just be ready whenever my name is called.”

  1. Good attitude. Sometimes it takes tough love to get the best out of dudes.

The bench rotation was awesome and Pat played well but part of me wishes it would’ve pissed him off just a little bit. “When he told me, I was all for it. I think Javonte is a really good player, plays with a lot of energy. And I kind of saw where he was coming from in terms of him bringing energy to that first group. And I think it worked. We won.” I understand he’s being diplomatic but his presumption that we won because the coaching staff made the right call to bench him and start Javonte doesn’t sit right with me. He’s so gifted. I want him to want it.

If Pat plays more aggressively with the second unit I’m all for it. If he is always playing with Zach, DeMar and Vooch it’s hard for him to be assertive. I liked that he got the ball and went down hill immediately a couple times this game. I’m interested to see how it goes next game.
