If you’re interested in my full analysis you can see it [here.](https://youtu.be/zuZ3BwL-RhQ) it’s not a Cam slander video there are some Brunson defensive lapses to go along with a lot of offensive and defensive highlights.

i think this clearly shows that there’s no lack of effort from cam, which is a big problem. he just doesn’t seem to have good instincts for reading where the play is going. i’m glad we’re seeing this now. if we let him walk for nothing after this season, i’ll feel no type of way.

Base on this clip our definition of “lost” is different.

Sheesh even worse than I thought last night. I was just thinking that he has really lazy feet and it leaves him consistently out of position. But these clips makes it look as though he’s got no idea where to be on the floor at all. It’s concerning bc this is a huge year for cams NBA future. So far he’s been terrible defensively, which was a glaring team weakness/team need. Offensively it still seems like he’s playing like he deserves the ball instead of looking to find his niche and fit into the offense. If he can’t improve very soon he won’t deserve any minutes over Fourneir or Grimes.

He didn’t look lost imo, I saw heavy legs
And I know you’d prefer the big to not close out on that three in the corner but, that’s one hell of a rotation
You prob know waay better than I do tho
bibfortuna16
lost? hardly. looks like they were playing drop coverage. the only “issue” I saw was the first play when he did not gap for Brunson to run thru. Cam is definitely not “lost” on defense.

It’s comical how bad he is recovering from screens
aha_yer
mf cannot get by a screen for his life

I dont really see lost here.
2nd play of that video for instance, cam did what he should have. Hali scored on him yeah, cam seems a step slow but conditioning plus a balky ankle could do that.

Y’all some hating annoying fanbase. Imagine doing all this cuz u hate cam

There’s a lot of stuff that’s tough with this unit on D in particular.
On a good note, it feels like Julius is dropping less in coverage and switching more (which is something we’ve been asking for for a while). I’m not too concerned about Cam since he probably doesn’t get a bunch of reps (more concerned about communication if anything), same with Brunson just because he’s acclimating to a new system and how they switch(and even if he isn’t the best defender, he’s tenacious), etc.
If anything, I’ll have the game on a bit later and I will be focusing on Mitch’s positioning against Turner. We know how last season went when it was Mitch vs. anyone who could space at the 5, if he can continue to recover while protecting the paint, that’s a key.

You put together a reel of Cam contesting multiple shots and called it lost?
He was there on every play.
Halliburton hit a tough shot on Cam, who was help defending.
Big deal.
The rest of them, Cam was right there.
You even included a recovery on Mathurin, that the Knicks offensive rebounded.
What exactly was your intent?
He’s one day removed off a turned ankle.
This video doesn’t show him getting lost at all.
What nonsense.
_sexhaver
Give him a break. Sure he wasn’t the best defensively but he guarded Haliburton for most posessions and he’s still partially injured. I think he did well on a lot of coverages and closing out on the shooter. Also hes always active in the passing lanes
