In the preseason of 1993, Bill Laimbeer broke Isiah Thomas’ rib during practice. The next month, he intentionally elbowed Isiah’s broken rib during practice. Isiah then broke his hand punching Laimbeer in the back of his head. Laimbeer wanted to retire after that incident because he was embarrassed, but the team (and Isiah) convinced him to keep playing. He eventually retired the following month because of injuries. I can’t imagine Draymond retiring while the team is still a championship contender though.
