How Dalano Banton Could Have A HUGE Impact On The Raptors Future

The Toronto Raptors have not had an ideal preseason so far. Many fans were expecting big things from the players who helped orchestrate a 48 win season last year, but from the four games played so well it has been extremely underwhelming. Despite this we have seen few players really shine in these games but none have shined more than Canadian and Rexdale’s finest Dalano Banton. Banton is coming off a season where he quickly lost his bench role in Toronto but shined with the G-League affiliate Raptors 905 for much of the season, especially as they made their playoff push. That being said it looks like the 6’9 point guard has a newfound hunger to get the next level and has showed it in preseason, especially in the recent Toronto Raptors game where they lost 115-98 to the Chicago Bulls. With the Raptors searching for an every day backup point guard, is Dalano Banton the answer?

The Raptors are building their organization and team with a clear vision. To have every player on the court fit their mold of an ideal player. Two-way, athletic and switchable on defence with their height Dalano is one of the few point guards to fit that dynamic. With some inconsistencies after being drafted 46th overall, is he set for a bounce back year? In this video Jacob Gramegna on his main channel Amateur Hour Sports dives into the developmental strides we have seen in preseason so far and how he can bring it into the regular season. Should Nick Nurse put Banton in his main rotation this season? Is Dalano Banton better than Malachi Flynn?

  1. banton needs to tie down his pigtails ,,you cannot play properly with those things flapping in your eyes

  2. "A vision of all the players on the court being two way, switchable, athletic, big players. who can defend any position" meanwhile we still have 5'11 Fred starting at PG.

  3. We should start Koloko. He can maybe be more confident on shooting the ball if he gets the opportunities, and have a more post-up game.
