Honestly I think he’d be pretty good just getting to be Westbrook off the bench. Just needs to accept the role mentally.

bruh couldnt even manage to be a starter for every preseason game this season, holy fuck

  3. ElectricalKeyboard

He will surely be mature about this.

  4. No-Yak-4500

Wow he actually did it. Shoutout Russ cause I was never expecting him to accept this. I thought for sure he’d need to go the Melo route and be out of the NBA to get humbled

If he’s willing to accept the role which seems to be the case this could be pretty good for him

  6. SwishBreak

I can genuinely see him thriving in a 6-man role

This smells like Iverson’s last season. Coming off the bench is the only way he can extend his career past this season, but aI don’t think he’s up to it.

  8. Imkitoto

I don’t think this solves our core issues but at least Ham is practicing what he preaches on accountability so far

  9. ThatWrestlingGuy15

We’re really here huh I never thought it’d come this early in his career he’s still soo young. Russ’ decline been sad to watch

  10. nickbriggles

He needs the ball, needs to dribble, and needs the green light to shoot any shot to succeed. Same reason some g league stars don’t translate to role players in nba, and even if he finds success as 6man will he be benched in playoffs and 4Qs like some other 6moty’s that are seen as a liability outside of regular season?

Smart move. You can’t play Beverley and Russ together cause they’re both ball dominant guards. Let Russ run the bench and keep Beverley as the facilitator for Bron and AD.

  12. ThatBull_cj

Beginning of the end. We will see if Russ accepts it tho

  13. EducatemeUBC

I literally just soiled myself. If they can convince this brick machine to be 6MOY that would be the absolute best case scenario.

  14. bababerands

Might be a tough first go for him tonight with our pg off the bench being Off Night Davion Mitchell

  15. Lovingnature412

    FUCKING FINALLY !

Been wanting this since last season

  16. If he would have done this 2 years ago, he would be Manu 2.0 at this point and valued more.

  17. Thel3lues

Why is even this phrased as a mutual decision? He’s not good and the coach told him he’s starting on the bench that’s it

  18. Independent-Still-73

He and Bron shouldn’t be on the floor at the same time

  19. LarryKoofer43

Russ will be cool until they leave him on the bench to close out games

  20. Lanky-Pedro

Congrats on the upvotes to whoever posts the video of whatever passive aggressive shit Westbrook pulls tonight. Get your popcorn ready

Salute to Russ for actually showing a willingness to help the team.. He set more screens in preseason than i’ve seen him set his entire career lol.. However, I just don’t see it working overall, unless he’s happy not closing games.
