I like this take. If Westbrook accepts the role, he could really be an energizing force with the 2nd unit. It’s not a good fit to have two players, LeBron and Westbrook, start together when they both tend to have the ball in their hands.
Given last year’s woes, I’m not going to predict that he will be contending for 6th Man of the Year like Horry used to. But if he did, that would really salvage his reputation in his 30s. Many people and pundits have conjectured he could be nearing the end of his career, but boy it would be so nice if he proved them wrong, showed a modicum of humility in coming off the bench, and became a key ingredient for the success of a team I otherwise don’t like!

What? LeBron and Westbrook actually do fit because LeBron doesn’t actually run an offense. He cuts and iso’s a lot, and is way more of a shooter now than Miami LeBron.
Even prime LeBron was never a traditional point guard directing the offense at all times. He’s always had elite playmaking, but in much smaller quantities than any other great-elite playmaker in the league.
Also, the LeBron/Westbrook pick n roll was like the only good offensive set they had the entire last year.

Only the dumbest of the dumb are actually vomiting these brain dead takes. The entire point of this 6th man bench unit, is to lead second units yeah? Guess what? You can sub out early and come in later first -> mid second quarter and do exactly that as a starter.
The only ones making this an ego trip and going on character assassinations are trolls and smooth brained drama leeches.
