Lauren Jackson one of the greatest womens basketball players ever and the goat Australian ball player retired in 2016 due to knee injuries and was a first ballot hall of famer in 2021. She unretired at age 41 for the 2022 fiba World Cup and drop 30 and 7 in the bronze medal game.

While we’re still in the off-season I wanted to shed light on a really impressive recent basketball story. The nba equivalent to this would be if Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett came out of retirement after already being in the hof for fiba this year.

Highlights of her 30 point game vs team Canada in the bronze medal game https://youtu.be/YXgNZC8oV-Q

Article about this incredible story if you wanna read more. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2022/09/24/sports/basketball/lauren-jackson-comeback.amp.html

Jesus it’s amazing she was still competitive at that age.

She also had 2 kids during her break. Jackson is an absolute legend in basketball.

    GOAT 🇦🇺

She was basically told to retire too, her knee was bone on bone.

Show how tough and determined she is.

Women’s basketball had a great year. Chelsea Gray put up an absolutely insane playoff performance, shooting almost 70% on mostly contested midrange fadeaways. Also nuts that the Aces won the finals in Connecticut, flew to Vegas for a parade, and then flew to Sydney to win the World Cup in the course of like three days. Also Han Xu put up crazy numbers for Team China.

Damn those highlights! Shooting, strength, footwork, positioning, height… she’s got a game tailor made to age with

Legendary. That game alone probably added about 20% more confirmation that shes the goat.

And for some reason the coach barely played her against China. Then she goes and does this in the bronze match, what a legend.

at 40 seconds in she’s being guarded by 4 players, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that. GOAT indeed

She was so good in her prime. All she did was get buckets and win everything there is to win.
