  1. I don’t understand what Steve a problem is. Kd picked the coach he wanted and the nets didn’t care cause they thought they would be getting a ring

  2. JJ and Mad dog when Steve Kerr was hired they were not a championship team they came off losing in 7 to the clippers in the first round he didnt have experience but he didnt go to a championship level roster of talent in the way Steve nash did

  3. Distinctly remember when Stephen A made the Steve Nash hiring about black coaches getting passed up, and now he's mentioning that BOTH black and white coaches were passed up when he has to bring up a conversation with Steve Nash.

Even with Nash initially getting KD and Kyrie's blessing, he still chose to make the Steve Nash hiring an issue even though: A. Jason Kidd, a rookie coach who is also half black, was handed a pseudo-super team with the old Nets and B. Steve Kerr, a rookie head coach, was tasked to usher in a new era of basketball with the Warriors.

This whole mess was KD's big plan of "proving himself" anyway and why would the Nets turn down such an idea? Man still ended up building a superteam and failed miserably because he couldn't hold Kyrie accountable.

Steve Nash had to deal with all that. So I'd consider this a win for Nash, and not a correct assessment by Stephen A, since: A. He was already half-wrong about the Steve Nash hiring being a racial issue and B. This Nets team was uncoachable. Put any other GOAT coach in Nash's position and with how management works today, they'd get fired first before Kyrie is dealt with. I refuse to believe that any coach would get Kyrie to listen because the man is an actual idiot. Thank God Shaq and Chuck were brave enough to say it for the whole world.

  4. Good job Stephen A! Your hard work over the past 2 yrs finally paid off and get the white coach fired. Now let's bring in an Asian coach with 50 yrs experience in cba with unmatched expertise on authoritarian control. That's right, no black coach has the ability to control the personalities on this team neither

  5. So, who exactly pursued Steve Nash to begin with? Was it the GM or players, or all of the above?

  6. Steve Kerr didn’t inherit a team with championship hopes like Steve Nash. The Warriors were a good team but he helped create a championship culture. If Steve Kerr was coaching the Nets they would be way better than they are now.

  7. Forget the actual topic at hand ESPN literally went to get another old white man that looks exactly like Skip that is hilarious

  8. The Nets are like a guy that gets into a car accident. They've got broken bones all over their body, and they choose to just save their face (Steve Nash, who was a coach in over his head and stunk once his assistants in Udoka and D'Antoni were gone), while ignoring the broken arms and legs (Kyrie's toxicity, Ben Simmons' play, and KD's attitude)

  9. Steve Nash essentially found a life boat a day before the iceberg hit the titanic and reached New York fresh and dry and sipping mimosas 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️kd and kyrie was never going to win and being a coach of a team with those two “ superstars “ and other good players then you will get the blame no matter what

  10. Stephen a Smith is right about this one. He was never qualified to get "that" job. Should of been Orlando or Charlotte or something to gain experience.

  11. Jj is wrong about Steve Kerr…kerr Did have coaching experience he was on pops staff for a while and was in the office for the sun's. But if I'm Brooklyn I go after mark Jackson

  12. He was supposed to be gone after being swept. He is too new to deal with superstars, especially entitled ones like KD and Kyrie. I remember when KD was a coachable player. Was a beautiful thing.

  13. Steve Kerr shouldn't of got Mark Jackson's dinner after he bought the groceries and cooked it. Same with Gruden and Tony dungy in Tampa

  14. Steven A always making everything about race!! We’ll never all come as one as long as you have people like him constantly making this the subject of conversation

  15. YOU KNOW THIS CONVERSATION IS FRUITLESS. LET ME EXPLAIN WHAT I MEAN SHOW ME IN THE NBA AND THE HISTORY OF THE NBA WHERE COACH SHOT A JUMP SHOT. WHERE COACH BLOCKED THE SHOT WHERE COACH PLAYED DEFENSE FOR 48 MINUTES AND WON THE GAME AND LET THE LEAGUE IN SCORING COACHES DON'T SHOOT JUMPERS COACHES DON'T PLAY THE GAME. A COACH IS AN OBSERVER OF THINGS AND HE CALLED PLAYS HE DIRECT THINGS BUT HE'S NOT ON THE COURT THE COACH ON THE COURT IS THE ONE THAT WIN THE GAMES MAGIC JOHNSON LEBRON JAMES LARRY BIRD GEORGE GERVIN DR J THEY WERE THE COACHES ON THE FLOOR ISAIAH THOMAS. THAT'S WHO WIN THE GAME. CUZ YOU CAN GO IN THE HUD ON THE COACH CAN SAY LET'S DO ABC AND D AND THE SUPERSTAR WILL SAY MAN CLEARED I'LL GET A BALL TO ME YOU WANT TO WIN THIS CLEARED OUT LET ME TAKE HIM ONE ON ONE BOOM AND THEY'LL TAKE THE ACCOUNTABILITY RESPONSIBILITY AND THEY'LL GET IT DONE AND IF THEY DON'T GET IT DONE THEY'LL TAKE THE CRITICISM. YOU CANNOT COACH PROFESSIONALS YOU CAN SUGGEST TO THEM BUT THEY THE ONES ON THE COURT THAT'S GOT A SCORE PLAY DEFENSE THEY GOT TO MAKE THINGS HAPPEN YOU CAN'T DO IT FROM THE BENCH

  16. Steven A always with his specifics and exceptions. Just say what you really wanna say. Why is he always trying to explain himself about his comment only applies to this person at this specific time, moment, situation, moonphase, tide, barometric pressure and altitude. Why is this guy's opinions so popular?

  17. Stephen A Smith couldn’t even answer that question even if it was rhetorical. There’s no reason to say black or white, we have to remember that the NBA is now 25% INTERNATIONAL!!!!

  18. Ben Simmons is absolute garbage. Kyrie is drama. Nash couldn't win with that team. Team is pooh pooh

  19. Man, going from Stephen a the football analyst to Stephen a the basketball analyst is like watching 2 completely different people.
