Before everybody gets mad at our players, put yourself in their shoes for a second and think about it from their POV:

    1. Ime was their friend

    2. The core players asked for him to be their coach given their prior experience with him in Team USA

    3. Under Ime, Jayson Tatum made First Team All-NBA, Jaylen Brown played the best ball of his career in the 2nd half of the season, Marcus Smart won DPOY, Robert Williams had his breakout season where he was All-Defense, and beyond the individual accomplishments that happened under Ime, the team made the NBA Finals and was within 2 wins of a title.

These guys don’t know any more than we do, so it’s perfectly understandable that they are frustrated with the situation.

*”I’m just happy to see a Black head coach end up back on his feet,” Brown said, “because I’ve seen situations where something like this might not have been the case.”*

Nothing — nothing about this story is about race. Seen any good movies lately, Jaylen? I know your buddies Kyrie and Ye have. Care to address that? Does your Player’s Union? 🤡

    This is so terrible.

Really hope the Celtics FO had their hands completely tied because if they willingly chose to handle the situation this way then they are really dumb.

Not telling the players anything was the worst possible way to go about this.

Really think about this from the orgs standpoint. Brooklyn will have all the headaches of image, responsibility and Boston will take the moral high road on every turn. Being responsible isn’t popular, but it’s safe and it’s a guaranteed payoff in the future. Boston always gets slammed for race relations and all the other bullshit heaped onto the fan base and the city, and the reality is, every city in America has problems like Boston does, Brooklyn too. But the Celtics took the high road, and no one can try as they may cant take down that organizational responsibility
