its not hip hop. its the street life that seeped into the hip hop culture.
Stak is right to an extent. Russ does play hard, however his playing hard leads to turnovers, out of control play and stubbornness.
This goes back to OKC when his game wasn't reeled in. He was a major reason KD left (not that I'm a KD fan)

Can we chill on the "yall was wrong about Russ" narrative for a hot minute? They won 1 game. Last year he damn near led the league in turnovers, plays little to no defense, and has one of the worst shooting percentages at his position in the league. He wasn't the only reason they lost a lot of games last year, AD and LeBron were out with injuries, but he damn sure didn't help the situation.
Take the comment a bit further that both Matt and Stak mentioned about “if teams can afford to dip in the luxury tax then do it.”
GS was not a team that could afford that at one point, they to a degree had to gamble when all of the rookie came up for renewal. I think we all forget sometimes that this team which is now worth $7B, was in 2013 worth ~$500M. It worked out and now others are sour? GS has had an exceptional organization top-to-bottom for the last decade now – they made good decisions with risk that worked out. Any team can venture to do this, well almost.
