Miles Bridges has filed for a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend and domestic violence accuser Michelle Johnson

[Link to TMZ article](https://www.tmz.com/2022/11/08/miles-bridges-files-restraining-order-from-domestic-violence-accuser/)

Interesting excerpt from the article: “He claims, though, his door would not lock — so he had to hold it shut as Mychelle allegedly attempted to break in by swinging a hose nozzle at the home.

Bridges says after she couldn’t get in, she then stole his dog, and left with their children.

Nearly three weeks later, on Oct. 31, Bridges said in the docs that Johnson followed him and his friends home from an L.A. hookah lounge at around 2:30 AM, and sat in his driveway with their two kids in her car demanding he speaks with her. He claims he didn’t want to due to the ongoing criminal case.

Bridges says despite attempts from his friends and bodyguards to get her to leave, she refused and stayed parked there for nearly 6 hours before leaving.”

The main takeaway I have from this is just how badly I feel for their kids. Both Miles and Mychelle seem like nutjobs that need to get help. Neither of these people should be around each other or their kids.

Saw the photo in article and thought she had a gun.

For all those who haven’t had the pleasure of being with crazy….here you go, this is what it is like

This makes it look like the relationship was extremely tumultuous and possibly mutually abusive. Those poor kids need new homes.

Is there any serious evidence that restraining orders actually work

  5. whyareucryan

They’re both so young, with so much money and responsibilities attached, unfortunate things are going to happen. They aren’t nut jobs, just immature. They don’t have the foresight to know this will stick with the children die their entire lives.

While I definitely feel for the kids, I do think Miles is trying his best to stay out of trouble after that 1st incident.

    from 11/3:

    https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34941255/miles-bridges-pleads-no-contest-felony-domestic-violence

    > During his three-year probation, Bridges, 24, will be required to complete 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling and 52 weeks of parenting classes, serve 100 hours of community service and undergo weekly narcotics testing with marijuana allowed only if there is a valid doctor’s prescription. He cannot own any guns, ammunition or any weapons. He also will have to pay a restitution fine of $300 (with a restitution hearing scheduled for Jan. 13) and a domestic violence fine of $500 and **obey the terms of a 10-year protective order, staying 100 yards away from and having no contact with the woman**. Bridges and the woman maintain custody over their two children, and any visitation or exchange of children must be done peacefully and through a neutral third party.

Does this not work both ways? I’m confused

In any case, those poor kids…..

Yall think Miles returns this season? Seriously speaking

  9. IceMan_674

He pleaded guilty and she showed up with their kids and berated him while he locked himself in a room and held the door and she stole his dog after.

Very toxic relationship. Just hope it can be resolved for the kids

Those poor kids man. Two crazy abusive parents. Still don’t think he should ever play again

There’s quite a few DV situations that are not the typical movie scenario where poor sweet girl gets abused by crazy boyfriend. They’re both crazy, guys are just a lot stronger therefore DV laws are designed to punish them more severely because they can actually do more real physical harm. That unfortunately discounts a ton of the mutual abuse that occurs in DV situations. Also it means men face serious legal reprucussions despite women being culpable for some of the violence (and facing zero legal action because DA’s don’t like losing cases)

This is a talk that redditors and the public don’t like. It has to be one bad guy or the other and to be fair, the legal system does encourage that sort of thinking.

Puts the video of mom talking kid through discussion of domestic violence on a video for social media in a bit of a different light.

Why is shit like this allowed here???

I like basketball. I thought this was a basketball sub. I come here for gameplay analysis, thoughts on prospects, actual shit that pertains to the game. Not to gossip about bridges and his wife over some tea

Tired of all this TMZ shit. I like basketball. Not drama and teeny bopper nonsense. I like basketball.

Who the fuck cares about bridges and his wife?

  16. Think-Archer-1791

Look at the size disparity she really could of hurt him with a garden hose

  17. cancercureall

Well this is a lot more yikes than I expected in an extra yikes situation.

  18. hotpocketthrowaway

Some idiots are gonna use this to try and justify Miles being an utter piece of shit but the reality of the situation is just that those kids need to be saved from the situation. This doesn’t make Miles look any better here, just makes her look worse.
