from a legacy standpoint I agree with him but I think LeBron is over winning championships. Living with his family in LA is more important. I respect that

  2. Hot take: LeBron signed the extension after the point that he’d be able to get traded this season so that the Lakers couldn’t just ship him out, because he looks close to washed.

If you were the Lakers fan, you’d hate Lebron. He has sold all their young stars (who are now all balling like All-star level players) and the future picks so there’s literally nothing left on this team for the future

Lebron has played 18 seasons, 4 rings, I’m not looking up All-Star stats, arguably top 3 NBA player of all time. He doesn’t need to speak with Richard Jefferson on his decisions.

I definitely could see it being the final blow in terms of him being considered the GOAT 15-20 years from now

Right now if nothing changes I think the further we get from his retirement the more people will just default back to MJ being their GOAT(which is still probably the 65/35 majority opinion right now)

Him signing that contract makes it far more likely he won’t sniff a fifth ring

I mean, if he still cared about winning, for sure. Doesn’t really seem like that’s the case though, otherwise he wouldn’t sign it.

He doesn’t care about winning chips at this point in his life. And when he doesn’t he gets to sit back while Westbrook takes all the blame. Win win

  8. Part of me thinks he just wants to be in LA, but given the way the Lakers are currently being run I could see them flat out lying to him and saying they were definitely going to make a move.

  9. Altruistic-Twist-379

I mean at this point hes on the LeDontGiveAFuckPhase of his career.

  10. LeBronFinals8Points

Not true. Its tied with everything else LeBron did in his pathetic life

  11. caughtincircles

Yeah making millions of dollars playing basketball in LA is a terrible move, I concur.

The most cursed day of LeBron’s career was being drafted by Cavs.

  13. He’s accomplished enough in his career bald man

  14. Dismal_Committee_696

10 games in and hes unhealthy ..but yeah he signed and Rob said “bet” and put the fort wayne mad ants around him and AD

  15. But he wanted to stay and do the Hollywood thing like skip been saying

  16. It’s crazy cause if he came back to Cleveland, you and everyone else would have been calling him a team-hopper.

  17. moses_lawn

He’s right, Pelinka was handed everything and didn’t deserve an extension.

If the Lakers weren’t going to commit to trading those picks then he shouldn’t have signed the extension. He would slot in well for a farewell Cavs tour without needing to be a primary or secondary option.

Don’t make any difference LA and lebron isn’t winning anything now, and the team won’t for prolly next the 10-20 seasons

  19. motorboat_mcgee

Big money and doesn’t have to uproot his family, it’s not rocket science

  20. Basketball wise, it almost definitely is.

It was clear before this year that AD simply cannot stay healthy enough throughout an entire season.

The ideal would have been for LeBron to take a CP3 role and play for a team that can get to the playoffs without LeBron needing to carry so that he can save himself for the games that really matter.

If Lebron was just desperate to win another ring he would have signed with the Heat or the Suns on the mid level or something. I don’t think he’s unhappy in LA and the fact that he re signed even after a losing season proves that.

  22. Y’all need to stop lol it’s not lebrons fault that no one on that team can shoot consistently and that AD and Russ aren’t reliable

  23. TurbulentJudge1000

Lebron wanted to get paid plain and simple. He’s won his titles. He wants to play with his son, and being in LA is the best way to do that.

  24. w3bCraw1er

What mistake? He has nothing left to prove.

  25. c_c_c__combobreaker

As a Lakers fan, I want Lebron to be traded to a contending team. He’s only got a couple of good years left. The Lakers aren’t even a playoff contending team.
