It’s not a catastrophic injury, but it’s nonetheless serious. Can take weeks to properly heal, and will limit flexibility and full hand function until then.

I had this same injury a few years ago after slamming my hand into a tipping wheelbarrow, which also incurred a small bone chip. I was back to playing ball at the gym within a month, but the pain took another month to fully disappear.

I may be wrong, but perhaps the vigorous dunking that our high-flying future star has been up to these past few games may have caused this injury. Calm down, Shaedon…we need you. Finger roll it in for a few games, k?

I had an avulsion fracture of my ankle. Was definitely painful. Basically sprained my ankle so hard that the tendon ripped off a chunk of bone where the tendon attached.

I rolled my ankle and got a lateral malleolus avulsion fracture just over 3 weeks ago. I am already walking without a boot and in physical therapy. I’m assuming he hyperextended a finger and the ligament pulled a piece of bone with it, not super serious, but will be uncomfortable and limit mobility for a while.
