[Timpf] LeBron did some nice work on Jerami Grant last night. Jerami tried to make a play with LeBron as his primary defender 15 times, and was held to 4 for 14 shooting with an assist. These aren’t stagnant possessions either. He had to navigate screens and DHOs on almost ever play.

There’s a group of people who really think LeBron magically declines/improves every other year on defense. It definitely can’t be his team structure or injuries effecting his effort.

Bron is a nice defender when he wants to be. He also knows when to coast.

I can not blame him for doing this but I understand if it frustrates some fans

Grant fell in love his jumper and as soon as it wasn’t falling he tried to take bron to the weight room and he realized it was too much weight.

Good offense leads to good defense. If they are taking the ball out of the basket everytime and not running down the floor after bricks then you have a better chance. If Lebron has to beat you down the court after a missed shot its going to be rough, but if he can match up with you in the half court you’re going to have to work a lot more.

Lebron can play really good defense, and his physicality is unique in that you can’t really prepare for it because very few people are built like him with the combo of strength/size/speed.

If you do manage to beat him, you have AD to contend with. So Lakers are capable of being a matchup nightmare in any series. HAVE FAITH
