    It has to be Jayson Tatum because he has been playing like an MVP this season and is trying to show that he improved from his performance in the nba finals this past year. He can win the MVP if the season were to end today. He has improved quite significantly in the game as well.

    While Jayson Tatum has had a great season which has got him in the running for the MVP, the play of his sidekick Jaylen Brown has gone extremely under-the-radar this season. I haven't seen anything in the media giving respect or recognition to his season but he's currently averaging a career high 26.1 points per game. His three-point shooting has been down this year but I expect that to improve as the season progresses. He just keeps adding new aspects to his game every season and if he was on a team where the offense was centered around him I could see him averaging 30 a game. The Celtics have been the best team in the league to this point in the season and if Jayson and Jaylen keep playing like they have been then they're bound for a Finals run.

    Derrick White is having the best season of his career, and if you look at the numbers, you would not understand the extent of his performance. He is shooting 45% from three despite previously being a notoriously poor shooter, makes going to the rack look easy, makes smart passes, and is still one of the better guard defenders in the league.

    Tatum earned it and he should be given the respect he deserves. I am not the biggest JT fan but I really see the improvements in his game. His finishing, defense, and playmaking are more consistent this year compared to the years prior. It just shows that he keeps working on his game in order to be in this MVP level type of play. He needs to be credited more, and this year is where no questions must be asked about who is really the best player in this Celtics team. It's as clear as a sunny day that JT is the man!

    I'm not going to say he's the best player on the planet right now but he dose seem to be playing like he wants to be.
